An Indelible Pillow Set : :

Indelible Pillow Set

This week my best friend is redoing her daughter's bedroom for her thirteenth birthday present and had recently brought over the store-bought shams and curtains to match up with some fabrics from my stash. Right away we knew Indelible by Katarina Roccella would be perfect! The color scheme was a spot-on match, the modern, woodland theme speaks to Hannah's love for nature and the text prints to her passion for reading and writing. I happily offered to make a set of pillows and spent yesterday's sewing time doing just that!

Indelible Pillow Plans

Using my go-to, most favorite pillow pattern, that can be found in issue 8 of Love Patchwork & Quilting for an easy-peasy set of patchwork covers, I whipped up the first two in no time at all!

Indelible Quilted Pillow

Indelible Quilted Pillows

All three pillows are backed in a Pure Element solid in Empire Yellow, Emerald, and Tile Blue.

Indelible back in Pure Element solids

Each has a binding finish, using up the leftover bindings Squared Elements in Noir from my Rapture Making Rows and Laced Up Gris from my NouvElle Friendship Diamond quilts. When creating quilt bindings I always make up extra to have on hand to add to my pillows, it's my favorite ending detail and adds such a professional finish!

Indelible Pillows

My third and final pillow is a simple 18" pillow, straight-line quilted with an Aurifil 50wt, in one of our favorite Indelible prints, Stamped Grove in Daylight. I adore this print! The sweet blue background, the birch trees and birds makes this print perfect to leave as is for a pillow just like this one, as whole cloth quilt, or to use as a wonderful quilt backing!

I can't wait to see Hannah's new, teen bedroom all finished, it's going to be amazing! I hope she loves her pillows and has a wonderful birthday!!

A Sunny Aurifil GIVEAWAY : :

Sunny Pillows & Aurifil!!

Since I'm still playing catchup from the busy weekend with orders, housework, and emails on this dark, rainy day with nothing new to share, unless you want to see more Birthday Crowns, I thought I'd brighten things up a bit with a sunny Aurifil Giveaway!

Aurifil Love!

Sunny Pillows

The summery pair of pillows I recently made for Love Patchwork & Quilting's newest Issue 8 just arrived back to me with an early copy! The happy duo features Bonnie's Sweet As Honey collection, with a couple Chromatics, a Reminisce floral, Squared Element in Lemon, and a Tule Folklore added to the mix!

Seeing my work in print is so exciting, so why not celebrate the honor with a Giveaway!

My Sunny pair of cusions in Issue 8 of LP&Q!!

Aurifil is so kind to periodically sponsor me with thread to use in my own projects and to share here in the occasional Giveaway. They are very aware that it's my favorite! I enjoy experimenting with colorful thread and love what it adds to my projects! For these pillows I used a variegated 50wt spool in a mix of yellows and oranges for my straight line quilting. Such a beautiful combo when paired with such cheerful fabrics!

Happy Yellow Aurifil

Today I'm happy to offer two sampler packs of Aurifil's wonderful threads!! Each contains SIX colorful spools in a variety of weights, one in yellows and one in oranges! There will be TWO winners this time, one will receive the sampler of yellows and the other winner the oranges!

Stash Happy : :

There's nothing quite like fabric mail, don't you agree? The excitement of opening each package, the fanning it all out, and the dreaming of what they'll become! I share often that it's my most favorite part of sewing, and this past week was extra, extra good! To top it off, a surprise package from Love Patchwork & Quilting arrived including my Butterfly Quilt -- in print, on the cover! WOWSA!!

LP & Q Cover shot!!

Here we have two brand new, amazingly beautiful collections by Art Gallery Fabrics!

AGFs

First the new Chromatics, a wonderful assortment of our very favorite prints in gorgeous new colors to coordinate perfectly with all of the AGF collections. I'm so excited about these! I sew with Art Gallery fabrics more than any other, because I'm in love with the feel, and have developed a bit of habit for keeping only AGF's together in my projects. Not always, but most of the time. Stashing these was a must for me and I really, really hope they'll offer more of this style of mix and match collections!

AGF Chromatics

I especially love these sweet & dainty Love Notes florals!

Love Notes Florals

Have you seen Bonnie Christine's newest collection Sweet as Honey? Named perfectly, this collection is full of the prettiest woodland themed fabrics I've seen and the colors are so amazing!

Sweet As Honey

Sweet As Honey

My personal favorites are the beautiful Fly By Day and Fly By Night prints. I plan to back an entire quilt in this fabric, and after seeing Art Gallery's new pattern for their Rustic Autumn quilt, I'm inspired!

Sweet As Honey -- Fly By Night

Since both Anna Maria Horner's new Dowry and True Colors collections didn't make it into my AMH Love Herringbone Quilt, and because I've been dying to make a second one! I recently received from Free Spirit Fabrics these Design Rolls in both of Anna's new collections! Already pre-cut into the 2.5" strips my pattern calls for, these are just too perfect and will make an already super quick quilt pattern even quicker! Plus, I have a roll of each to offer in a Giveaway right here, just as soon I finish up my quilt!!

AMH Happiness!

From Cloud9 Fabrics, I have big pillow plans for this Bark & Branch bundle, such a perfect Winter collection! As well as, big Giveaway plans for their brand new, Koi Canvas collection!

Cloud9 Love!

Such amazing fabrics, aren't they? Now my only problem is that I cannot decide which to cut into first! What do you think ?? Help!!

  Maureen

p.s. If you happened to miss both my posts on Facebook and Instagram yesterday, sadly one of my favorites and former sponsors here, Project Anthologies, is closing their shop. In closing they are offering some amazing fabrics all at an incredible price plus an extra 40% OFF with coupon code: closeout  Please, give Melany's shop a visit and help spread the word!!
