Waiting : :

I wish I had great news to share today about our move, but we're still in limbo. I know enough to know that snafus are common when buying a house, but that doesn't make them any less difficult. That's for sure! We are so, sooooo ready!

With most of my sewing room now packed, along with the rest of the house, and my mind completely occupied with both trying to stay positive and obsessive worry, I don't have too much to share besides my etsy orders. And, thank goodness I have those!

In between making these, we wait... We had this great idea to bring everything downstairs as I packed. Since our carpet leading up the stairs is a beige color, with this muddy Fall weather, we didn't want the concern of dirtying it up as we move. Well now, our downstairs is a complete pile of things with a path leading from room to room, with no solid moving date again, and we're all starting to lose it.

Waiting

Lately, I'm so grateful for any little thing that will get me excited again about this move. Well, about a month ago when I was still planning out my dream studio, I stumbled upon these great fabric storage boxes by Quilted Koala, on Lizzy House's blog. Lizzy's Pearl Bracelets are one of my favorite basic prints, and I thought a collection of these boxes would be great to have for storage. I bookmarked the links to have once I was ready to start shopping for our new house and my new space. Then a week or so ago, by complete coincidence Ali from Quilted Koala contacted me offering a sample! How could I pass that up?! It came over the weekend and I love it! Now I'm hoping I still have a reason to buy more!!

I also received some Pure Elements happy mail from Art Gallery Fabrics! A couple of basics and several of their brand new colors that are, of course, gorgeous!!

New Pure Elements

I've been building up my solid's stash over the last few months and I can't wait to get it all unpacked and organized to share here. I have been dreaming of making a solids quilt for months now!

Pure Stash Planning

I'm trying my best to stay up-beat and positive. Happy sewing mail and having my Birthday Crown orders to work on, definitely helps!! Of course, so does having this place to share!

Hello, Monday -- we'd love some good news today! Maureen

Getting there : :

Yesterday I started packing up my sewing room, finally.

Fabric is heavy!

It's a complete mess right now, in that in-between state, as I go through and sort each of things I've collected in here. It feels, right now, like it's going to take me forever, but I know it won't. Today, I'm pretty certain we'll be moving mid next week, and we can. not. wait. until this is over!

Things are beginning to look empty in here this morning!

When I'm not packing, I'm trying my best to keep up on my etsy orders. I thought about closing my shop, but the excitement of saving to buy a new rug and finally some artwork for OUR first walls, motivates me to keep on making!! Hanging that first picture is going to feel so, so good!

Besides keeping at my reach the supplies I need for my orders, I have a little table for my out-going mail and orders.

My happy mail table!

And, I've decided to keep out my holiday fabrics...just because! I am 100% sure I won't find any time this final week to begin any Christmas sewing, but they make me happy! And even more, they stir in me that Christmas-y spirit of decorating and making that I love this time of year!

Don't they make you happy, too!

Christmas fabrics

How about this one?! This is from the new holiday collection, Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Marissa and Creative Thursday, from The Intrepid Thread. He's perfect!!

Holy cuteness!

Honestly, this move is really getting so emotional for me lately. It has been for a little more than a week now. I'm sure that being exhausted and all of the others things happening in our lives right now, adds to that tremendously. Add in the enormity of this dream finally coming true for our little family -- we are so close!

Of course, there are so many things I want to share, but I could never find the words right now. Just know that the encouragement and support I get from having this place to share is so HUGE! Thank you for stopping by, for taking the time to connect with me, and for supporting me in this creative work that I love SO much! So many of you are the ones who keep telling me to keep dreaming big!! Thank you! Maureen

Gone Packing : :

The fact that I have just three weeks to pack up this house sort of hit me like a ton of bricks this week. I really need to get busy, and I'm not sure why I had been in lala-land thinking I had all this time to prepare? It's all still kind of surreal, I have to tell you. Each day I think about our house, of course, and even though I believe it is going to definitely happen, I can't help but to feel a little worry about this whole process of buying a house. I decided this morning that I am going to try not to live in the uncertainty, and try to let myself truly cherish and enjoy every single minute of this preparation time, and to not be so stress-y about it all. Which I have been, it's true.

I really want to just enjoy it all. Because I am, more than anything, thrilled!

packing....

First on my list of things to pack are "the collections" these are the things that my husband knows are here, but when they are all spread out on our dinner table in this fashion, it makes me look a little hoarder-ish?? And, that's not good since my husband is a purger.

So... today I woke up feeling that my much-loved glass, pyrex, pictures, wooden boxes, sea shells, "my stuff," needs to be carefully packed away by me, before it "mysteriously disappears." Anyone want to help?!

WAY too much stuff....and dust!

p.s...

- I'm planning to leave the dust here. Yikes! You can tell I much prefer sewing over cleaning these days, that's for sure!

- I'm still hoping to get that new tutorial finished to share later today, but it might not be ready.

- Oh, and here's a peek at tomorrow's Fabric Giveaway!
