Waiting : :

I wish I had great news to share today about our move, but we're still in limbo. I know enough to know that snafus are common when buying a house, but that doesn't make them any less difficult. That's for sure! We are so, sooooo ready!

With most of my sewing room now packed, along with the rest of the house, and my mind completely occupied with both trying to stay positive and obsessive worry, I don't have too much to share besides my etsy orders. And, thank goodness I have those!

Wednesday's Crowns...

Yesterday's crowns

Thursday's Crowns...

Last night's crowns

Friday's Crowns...

Friday's Crowns

In between making these, we wait... We had this great idea to bring everything downstairs as I packed. Since our carpet leading up the stairs is a beige color, with this muddy Fall weather, we didn't want the concern of dirtying it up as we move. Well now, our downstairs is a complete pile of things with a path leading from room to room, with no solid moving date again, and we're all starting to lose it.

Waiting

Lately, I'm so grateful for any little thing that will get me excited again about this move. Well, about a month ago when I was still planning out my dream studio, I stumbled upon these great fabric storage boxes by Quilted Koala, on Lizzy House's blog. Lizzy's Pearl Bracelets are one of my favorite basic prints, and I thought a collection of these boxes would be great to have for storage. I bookmarked the links to have once I was ready to start shopping for our new house and my new space. Then a week or so ago, by complete coincidence Ali from Quilted Koala contacted me offering a sample! How could I pass that up?! It came over the weekend and I love it! Now I'm hoping I still have a reason to buy more!!

Quilted Koala Box

I also received some Pure Elements happy mail from Art Gallery Fabrics! A couple of basics and several of their brand new colors that are, of course, gorgeous!!

New Pure Elements

I've been building up my solid's stash over the last few months and I can't wait to get it all unpacked and organized to share here. I have been dreaming of making a solids quilt for months now!

Pure Stash Planning

I'm trying my best to stay up-beat and positive. Happy sewing mail and having my Birthday Crown orders to work on, definitely helps!! Of course, so does having this place to share!

Hello, Monday -- we'd love some good news today! Maureen

  4. Oooh... I can only imagine the beautiful solids quilt you'll make! Can't wait.

We've moved what feels like a bazillion times over the years, so I SO know that feeling. Your whole life is packed up, you're super excited to start a new adventure but if ONE.MORE.BOX appears... sigh. Sounds like the end is near, though... and the end will be AWESOME. Here's hoping for great news today!

  7. Hurry ups are the killers...I know, I've been there. Just moved for the 3rd time in just a little under a year and a half. AND, we may move again next summer! Just smile, and think of all the fun you will have decorating your new home. We love it, still have tons of stuff in boxes and we have been here since May. Shopping for even little stuff is so much fun. Its the only thing that kept me sane till we moved. We love it and you will be to happy also. Just hang in there and smile, a lot!

  9. Sending positive thoughts and wishes your way. I hope your move comes soon.

Your felted crowns are so cute. I found them in your ETSY shop and glad to know they are available for purchase. I think they'd be perfect for a kid's birthday party.

  16. Limbo is the hardest thing! When we bought our house I was pregnant (and didn't know it yet) so every little snafu made me burst into tears. Hang in there, it will happen and it will be so worth it to have your new home. :)

  20. Waiting sucks. We had plenty of that in the lead up to moving here, from Australia to Japan, including a year of waiting to hear whether my husband had the job!! But I did have to giggle at the picture of your furniture piled up - it looks like Kim's mum's antiques store in Gilmore Girls ;)
BTW - how do you get such perfect letters for your crowns?? I'm needing something similar for a couple of gifts, and don't know how to make them so nice, or where to buy them!

  21. beautiful crowns!!!!
I'm moving too this week end but...not for a happy reason...
I'm getting separated so...it's a very sad move...
but...I can understand all the "caos" between a move...
    hugs, Dany

  22. Love your crowns: so wish I could think of things like that to make! :-)
And sorry to hear of your moving "limbo". When my grandmother died we ended up moving all of her things into our house, since my mom was an only child and we ended up with everything, and we definitely had stacks of boxes that we had to walk between while my mom figured out what to do with it all. But I have to say, being a kid during that time was easier, I'm sure, than being the mom in charge of it all! I hope the bank and those in charge get it in gear soon for you!! Have a great and "moving" week!! Hugs

I love the new colors of pure elements fabric! You've turned me into a huge fan of this fabric. Thank you.

Hugs to you, friend. I'm crossing my fingers that you get word very soon. Hopefully, in a few weeks you be all settled in your new home and you can look back on this time with relief!
