Baby Quilt Planning : :

Just a few days after I shared my last fabric stash post I received these adorable new bundles in the mail -- this Reminisce Inspired Pure Element Solids bundle from Stash Fabrics and this super cute & cozy FQ bundle of FanFare flannel by Rae Hoekstra for Cloud9 Fabrics.

Mmmm... I love these together! An AGF Pure Element bundle from Stash Fabrics and Made By Rae's new Fanfare collection for Cloud9 Fabrics!

Since I love the way these two bundles look together, I decided to begin a new baby quilt-as-you-go with these as my starting point.  I've always wanted to incorporate my fox applique pillow design into a quilt somehow and this is the perfect opportunity!

While thinking up additional applique blocks for this quilt, I remembered these elephant applique pillows I made back in 2011, and thought this design might make a cute block to add in, too!

After making my Stitched Typography Quilt and my recent Butterfly Quilt, I'm really excited for this chance to experiment with applique & quilt-as-you-go once again! Here's a little peek at the progress I made last night.

And now I've decided my fox needs a crown!

I'm thinking of adding in an owl applique block, because I love owls, and maybe a tree block or two, as well. What else do you think would be cute? I always love reading your ideas!

A Little Updating : :

I spent a little time yesterday changing a few things around here and in my etsy shop. Notice my new header up there? I like it much better than the old one, although I just can't seem to figure these things out completely? With this one, my problem is getting the size right. I'm only able to add one much too big or this size? Without that issue, I really hope it represents my blog well -- pillows, organizing, Anna Maria Horner fabrics, more Anna Maria Horner fabrics, and applique. I hope to add a quilt up there very soon, as well!

I also updated my Elephant Pillow photos, finally. The last pictures were taken on a dark rainy day and the redo for them was altogether forgotten... until now!

Yes, Much better! But there's still so much work to do!!!

And what about you? Do you have any new changes to share? I'd love to see what you're up to!

Elephant Pillow Parade : :

Alright, back to sewing! Although there is very little evidence here, I actually have been sewing quite a bit. Those birthday crown orders continue to come, I have been experimenting a bit with new ideas, and I even had my little sister sewing the other day. She made her first...guess what?...Yes, pillow! She did great and I feel terrible that I didn't take pictures of the event. Since my old fancy camera decided to die on me, I've altogether forgone that very important step? The good news -- I have a new camera on the way! We're hoping it's here by Friday, my birthday

The other day I decided to open my little sketchbook and bring one of my million ideas to reality. With babies on my mind, my sister's due at the end of the month, I thought a nursery room pillow sounded like time well spent. What I ended up with are my new Elephant Applique Pillows. One made mostly of soft, wool felt, with a sweet birdie. The other a combination of felt and fabric, with a cute, flower detail.
