Campsite Gift Sets : :

Bag Set

Last month I shared this post gushing over Art Gallery Fabrics brand new capsules collection, Campsite. Full of foxes, feathers, wildflowers, stars and so many more adorable motifs made this ten piece collection perfect for creating something special for anyone that loves woodland themed prints just as much as I do! Right away I got to work on a new small run, limited edition gift set inspired by this adorable collection!

Campsite Bag Making

Keeping with the outdoors adventure theme of Campsite I ordered supplies to include with these zipper pouch bags that would set the mood for some adventurous sketching -- a Rustic Branch Pencil and Handcrafted Journal were the perfect gift items to include tucked inside each cute bag!

Each Campsite Zipper Pouch Bag has a side loop perfect for adding a fun tassel, like this handmade wool felt tassel that I made as a quick experiment, or to hook on a handy wristlet strap to make these easy to carry on your wrist or shoulder while out adventuring.

Campsite Gift Set Details

For the zipper pull on each bag I added a length of genuine suede cording in a pretty light blue shade that coordinates perfect with the orange zipper and the colors of Campsite. I love getting creative and adding all of the little special details to each of these small run gift sets!

Suede Zipper Pulls

One side of these zipper pouch bags are a version of my herringbone quilt as you go that includes some larger fussy cut patches so I could feature Campsite's Sneaky Little Fox print The reverse side of each bag was designed to feature Fireflies Glow, a print with sparkling metallic painted fireflies circling a jelly jar with some captured fireflies. So cute!

Firefly Log Cabins

I can't tell you how much I love making these gift sets! Since I moved out of my home studio into a much larger space, it has been so wonderful to think bigger when it comes to the things I can make. In the past I would typically make just one or sometimes two of each new idea I that had. These days I'm really enjoying having the option to make as many as I can of whatever new idea I have. My only restriction now that limits how many I'll make of something is the amount of supplies that I have on hand. It's so wonderful!

Branch Pencils

I hope you all love these new gift sets just as much as I do and that this project idea inspires your own sewing! If you're interested in purchasing one of my handmade items, you're welcome to visit my Etsy shop anytime to find most of the things that I make to share here on the blog. Mostly my hope is to excite those of you who stop by to sew with the collections that I love, as well as the collections that I design!

I'll have a new fabric collection to share with all of you later this week on my Instagram, so be sure to visit me there!

Capsite QAYG Blocks

Have you seen Art Gallery Fabric's Campsite Capsules collection?

At first site, I had to have it! Foxes, feathers, wildflowers, stars and so many more adorable motifs create this ten piece collection that is perfect if you love woodland themed prints just as much as I do!

Campsite Fabrics by AGF

Oh yes, and a print full of canning jars that keep sparkly metallic sprinkled fireflies captive! So much cuteness!

Campsite Bag Making

For my first Campsite project I decided on a set of zipper pouch bags that I plan to sell with a handcrafted journal and rustic twig pencil. I think it will make a really cute gift for any camp-loving kiddos, like my own three kids!

My bag fronts began with fussy cut Sneaky Little Foxes and from there I added patches and strips of each camp inspired print!

Campsite WIP

For the reverse side, I fussy cut a single Fireflies Glow jar for each piece and made quick quilt as you go style log cabin blocks. The Campfire Sweets toasted marshmallow print makes for a super cute stripe!

Campsite Fussy Cut

Laying together both styles of qayg blocks that I made for these bag fronts and backs, I could see either pattern making super cute baby or children quilts!

I'm hoping to finish up these bag sets to share later on this week! How about you, what are you working on this week?

Studio New: Thrifted Basket!

Studio New Fabric Roll Basket

I spent all day yesterday at my studio rearranging the work side of my space and I finally unpacked everything in the second room. You guys, I have way too much stuff! I shared the display side of my new studio earlier this month and later this week I plan to blog about the work side. It's so wonderful having so much space to work in now, but organization is the key to keeping it all looking nice and I'm so excited to share my recent thrift store find with you all today!

Studio New Fabric Roll Basket

As part of my contract, Art Gallery Fabrics sends me a roll with fifteen yards of each print that I design -- that's all twenty quilting cottons plus a roll of each of the knits, rayon and canvas. When these boxes of fabric arrive it's better than Christmas, I can't even describe it! The last thing I want to do is put them in a closet, hidden somewhere. I've always had them out where I can enjoy them and easily cut from the rolls what I need for my daily sewing. But just like dominos, several times now either a studio visitor or I have bumped into one of them and down they all go! So, when on a recent trip to our local thrift store I spotted this giant hamper style basket for just $20, I had to have it! It's the best thing I've found in a long time and completely worthy a blog post!

Studio New Fabric Roll Basket

I was hoping it would keep contained a collection or two, so you can imaged how thrilled I was when it fit nearly sixty rolls of my fabrics!!

Studio New Fabric Roll Basket

When I share photos of the rest of my work side later this week, you'll see how the rest of my prints are scattered in smaller round baskets throughout the studio. It's a great solution since I reach for these rolls pretty much daily!

Along with new studio pictures & our first Community Sampler sew-along block pattern, this week I have a new set of zipper pouch bags to share. Here's a pretty, little peek! These are right up there with some of my most favorite makes EVER!

Swan Bag Sneak Peek!

For my next set I'm using AGF's brand new, adorable camping themed collection, Campsite! Have you seen this new line of Capsules? With designs that include deer, fox, fireflies in jars, feathers and marshmallows on sticks, just to name a few, it's perfect for both boys & girls and is so fun for fussy cutting. I love these prints and I can't wait to finish these bags up to share soon!

Campsite!

I wish you all a happy Monday & a wonderful new week of sewing! xo Maureen
