Aurifil Designer of the Month!

I was thrilled to have been asked to join Aurifil's seventh year of their Designer of the Month Challenge & Interview series hosted by my fabulous friend, Pat Sloan! February is my assigned month and yesterday Aurifil shared my interview, along with the block pattern I designed on the Auribuzz blog. I hope you'll check it out!



For this year's challenge we're celebrating the rainbow and Pat assigned each designer a color from the color wheel to create their block in. Mine landed on Blue-Purple and I'm pretty thrilled with what this pretty color inspired!



My assigned shade of purple had me thinking of Summer blooms right away -- Hydrangeas, Delphinium, and Hyacinth flowers, so I knew my block design had to be a play on a pieced floral pattern. While I was searching for images to include in the color mosaic I created above, I stumbled upon the prettiest picture of a field of purple tulips in Holland that became my main inspiration for creating my block, Dutch Treat!

My partner in pattern designing these days, Sharon Holland helped to make the PDF amazing with her incredible writing and graphic design skills.
