A Craftsy Blog Hop!

This week I'm joining in a fun Craftsy blog hop with some of my fellow instructors! Today is my day on the blog hop, so I'm here to tell you a little more about my class, Quick Quilt As You Go!

Craftsy Class Collage

It's no secret that I LOVE this method and use it whenever possible! In my class you'll finish five gorgeous projects using my simple quilt-as-you-go method that makes it fun and easy to finish beautiful quilt projects, fast! You'll begin with making place mats, all while learning the basics & beauty of this method. Next, follow along to create a matching table runner as you learn to work with a larger piece of batting & backing, all while perfecting your stitch and seam allowance consistency.

Placemats & Runner Projects

Since filming the class I've recreated many of the patterns I teach myself, including this Thanksgiving table runner that I shared recently! I love how simply changing out the fabrics and size can change the whole look of this project!

Next in class you'll move on to making my very favorite Diamond Strings pillow, with tips for adding strips at a precise 45-degree angle, plus my how-to for perfectly finished pillows!

Craftsy Class -- A Diamond Strings Pillow!

Finally, you'll take on two quilt patterns, my popular Herringbone QAYG and Criss Cross Diamond Quilt with more tips and tricks for breaking large projects down into manageable panels and strip-piecing patchwork blocks!

  1. As a long-time follower of your blog and now a student in your first Craftsy class, I just want to say thank you for sharing your talent and love of all things fabric with us. Your spirit shines through in all you do.

  2. Craftsy is a wonderful platform and I have many (should I say oodles!) of classes. One of the best features is that you can rewatch the videos over and over. For me that's a big plus. Many times I think I'll remember what's being taught but when it comes time to execute, I realize I don't exactly remember. So...back to the class and I'm back on track. Here's to all you great Craftsy Instructors!!!!

  3. Good point, LJ. I have taken oodles of classes and have some on my wish list. Love the ability to go back to check something or to review my early classes and see the things I thought were impossible at the time I first saw them. Great for continuing education.

  4. Craftsy is a great resource for those of us living a long way from a quilt shop or who want access to teachers who only teach in the U.S.
    Long May it continue.

  5. I'm an experienced quilter, but have not done much quilt as you go quilting. I signed up for your class and made 6 placemats, for a friend, very quickly. She loved them, I loved learning a new technique, and I'm looking forward to watching the next class! Thanks, Maureen, for making time to share your creativity!

  6. I keep looking at your craftsy class & want to buy it but I have two questions ... as it's states that it is for beginners does that mean that you show how to bind it? Does it also mean that qayg is that ..the backing, wadding & top are done all at once? I'm a little confused and want to do this but I just need to make sure what I understand as qayg is what this course is. Thanks!
