Newly Bound : :

Newly Bound

By some miracle yesterday's snow-day somehow turned into a sew-day for me and I was finally able to finish binding up a new quilt! Although I have shared several new quilts here since October, the one's I made for my Craftsy Class and for my Fleet & Flourish fabric collection debut at Fall Quilt Market, I actually haven't finished a new quilt since before Halloween, can you believe it? Finishing this one felt so, SO good! Especially since this particular quilt top has been waiting to be quilted since July, yikes!

Ready For Quilting

Then again, maybe I was just waiting on my Fleet & Flourish yardage!! These days I'm loving the combination of aqua, denim blue, peach, & coral red, so my Sacred Amulets in Terra print made for perfect binding!

And, when it came time to match threads with my binding fabric choice, my brand new Bohemian Garden Aurifil Thread collection provided two options,  yet another bonus for waiting!

I hope to photograph this one while the snow is so pretty here in Potter County! I happen to have just enough binding left to finish up the next quilt in line waiting to be finished, my Diamond Weave Quilt, but I think it might be be to matchy-matchy. What do you think?

This morning I'm leaning more towards a stripey binding using in my Gentle Mantle in Land print. I didn't use it within the quilt, but I love how it brings all the colors together!

How about you, what are you working on this week?

  2. Oh, that fabric is just perfect for binding. So far this week I've gotten 3 of 20, 10 inch blocks machine quilted. QAYG is so much easier, but I need to learn other things too.
