This week we're at the beach for our annual family vacation, and we're having such a wonderful time! Nags Head is so gorgeous!! This morning I thought I'd share just a few snapshots from our first days here!
I've taken so many photos already, I've been sharing lots over on Instagram, and I'll be sure to share more here, as well!
Before we left for our long road trip I decided to bring along my floss stash for a new needlework project. It's been way too long since I did anything stitch-y!
I quickly pieced together two Indie prints with some RK Essex Yard Dyed Linen and a strip of my favorite AGF Pure Element, Empire Yellow. I've really enjoyed having this relaxed embroidery project to work on here and there, and I'm loving how it's coming together!
I'll be sure to share more later in the week!
I'm off to see who's won my most recent Giveaways! Be sure to stop back Wednsday and Friday for two more!!
♥, Maureen

These pictures are beautiful! Love your embroidery.
ReplyDeleteYour project is so pretty Maureen!! Have a great time Cracknell Family!!! =D
ReplyDeleteIt looks like such a nice place for a vacation. Your embroidery work is looking amazing, at this rate maybe your embroidery stash will be smaller on your way home.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carry! That is my hope!! Can you believe I got this whole stash in one shot when I made a trade with a friend who didn't want them?! Such luck!!
DeleteThat's beautiful! We love going to Nags Head.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful scenery! And beautiful needlework, too! Enjoy this R&R time with your family!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics of the sea, especially. Looking forward to reading more about the embroidery project.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos from your vacation and stitchery sounds like a wonderful project while you sit on the deck and enjoy the views.

Glad you're having fun in a great place! The embroidery project is looking good!!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are awesome. I love your embroidery project. Please post when finished! You are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is beautiful and surely want to see the finished stitchery...My older sister taught me to embroider and she actually had me rip out stitches if they were not small enough! All of my life I've learned different types of handiwork, but always go back to embroidery as it gives me much pleasure and has helped me through some difficult and sad times...truly believe we have a mission to keep our hands busy. Do not forget we want to see what your hands accomplished during your vacation.
ReplyDeleteI won't!! And, I completely agree, my hands crave a project to work on when we take long road trips. I've really enjoyed it!
DeleteEmbroidery is looking gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is lovely but I want to know more about that beautiful beach house. I so love the look of those houses, is that where your staying for your holiday?
ReplyDeleteIt is, the houses down here in Nags Head, NC are amazing! My parents, my siblings, and our families all get a house for a week that's big enough to accommodate all of us. It's so fun!!
DeleteMaureen that is such beautiful work. Is that just normal print fabric you are embroidering over or an actual embroidery pattern?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more of your beach stitchery projects!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful and the embroidery ~ brilliant!
ReplyDeleteMaureen, you take such wonderful photos and I was astounded by your amazing stash of embroidery floss and most impressed by the lovely embroidery work that you're doing. It is going to be stunning when finished.
