A Seamstress Tea Towel {Janome Tutorial} : :

Today's I'm sharing my newest tutorial as an Independent Project Designer for Janome, for a "Seamstress Tea Towel" using linen, ticking, applique, and some of those amazing built-in stitches that the Horizon Memory Craft 12000 offers!

The Seamstress Tea Towel -- Tutorial for Janome

This tutorial includes all the steps needed for making the linen tea towel, as well as a little applique and "I'd rather be sewing!" stitching. You can really have some fun with making these just by adding a different applique or a strip of patchwork. I have a few more that I've made to share here later in the week, that are each so different, but all made using the same tea towel instructions!

The amount of built-in stitches that the Horizon MC 12000 offers is really amazing! My goal is to try them all out. I just couldn't hold off on using this spool stitch any longer -- it's just about the cutest thing ever and the inspiration behind this particular applique design!

Janome built-in spool stitch

I had some fun with all the letter options, as well! The MC 12000 has several built-in word stitches including sweet, love, handmade, and stitch, or you can program in letters to create your own little saying.

I used a water soluble backing to handle the stitching on my linen, that rinses away with cool water. After the stitching you simply just trim away the connecting threads and you have this perfect little lettering!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks to themselves while cooking or cleaning in the kitchen, "I'd rather be sewing..." And now I have a fun tea towel that says so!

Be sure to visit Janome to get the full how-to! If you do give this tutorial a go at anytime, be sure to share on my Facebook page or in my Maureen Cracknell Handmade Flickr group anytime!

As a follow-up to both my Quilt-as-you-go Tote and my Quilt-as-you-go Tutorial from last week, I decided to put together that bag tutorial for this week, as well. I can't wait to share it, I'm almost finished! While making progress on my qayg quilt last week, I decided I'm going to need to make more blocks, which means it's going to take me a little bit longer for me to finish. So, here's a peek at my QAYG Bag Tutorial...stay tuned!!

Wishing a wonderful new week to all!! Maureen

    1. Aw, thanks! I was very lucky to receive my very first machine as a gift from my husband, before I even mentioned wanting to sew. I'm so glad he surprised me with it, and knew how much I would love sewing even before I did! :)

Working with Janome is such a dream come true, I will never feel worthy!

  16. What a fun idea! I enjoy playing with the built in stitches in my machine too. There are so many ways to combine them that you never have to use the same design twice if you don't want to!

  25. Though it's nice to get fast results, I find the healthiest way is to just brush your enamel with toothpaste that has baking soda in it. I have learned from a friend that baking soda is supposed to whiten your teeth, though it doesn't do something health wise.

That's why using toothpaste WITH the stuff in it is the healthiest way to go about it. Just twice a day, or if you're really dedicated, every time after a meal, for 2 minutes each.

  26. If there had been two distinct varieties of pipelines, 1 supplying the "new" European countries, and the other one supplying the "old" Europe (15 Western Member
states ) it would imply the price of gas for
Slovakia (that is conflicted with Russia) may be considerably greater compared to the prices for Germany, which right
now is technically impossible, since most of the Russian
gas is transported to Germany via Slovakia.

The program is particularly widely used all can help prevent injury or confusion. I use mine instead of the pull up bars however, all you need to do is use the steps laid out for you in the DVD s in order to do this. And one little thing, although it is a bit 2007, Ariel almost died when her pancreas stopped producing insulin.

  29. Hehe.. It truly is called Capitalism.. An army of workers with just the?
neccessary skills to be of use but not enough schooling to question the
technique would be the wet dream of every single capitalist.
. Hard competitors is also a capitalistic principle.
Maximal output at minimal costs.. Organizations compete and pass the
pressure on to their workers who also compete by selling their function force 1 cheaper than the other.
. Because they have no other possibility. One particular needs to "survive" as the younger man mentioned.
