Kitchen Quilting : :

This summer I plan on making my first quilt. I already have the fabric, that I have gushed over on here a few times, I have the vision, and I have been stalking all the right blogs in preparation --- Obsessively Stitching, Red Pepper Quilts, Oh, Fransson!, and Anna Maria Horner, just to name a few. I don't plan on following a pattern, naturally, I most definitely plan on hand-quilted the heck out of it, and I think I have some pretty unique ideas, that at least I have never seen done before. I'm hoping it will be more of an art piece, but equally cuddly and cozy like any good quilt should be.

So, for now I am practicing my hand at hand-quilting on somethings much less daunting and time consuming, using a little inspiration from my kitchen. I don't love it and should have embroidered it on a quilting hoop - but it was fun, super easy and I used a very small amount of materials.

It was a fun little project --- I already started on a few more in coordinating fabrics.
