First, I need to mention quickly that yesterday was my two year blog-iversary! Woot!! I cannot believe that I forgot! I spent this entire month thinking about it, planning for it, and then the business of this past weekend erased it all from my mind. This happened last year, too! LOL So, hows about we celebrate on Friday with a super gorgeous Daisy Janie Tilly giveaway? And shhhh, don't tell my husband that forgetting anniversaries is perfectly acceptable around here. Our 10 year is just 3 months away and I already have my presents picked out! :)
Citrus + Melon
Last night I was looking at my new fabric stashings, trying to find a way to link them together, other than the fact that they're all so very pretty. Immediately I thought of citrus and melon!
This turquoise and yellow bundle is from Fresh Squeezed Fabrics. Randi had offered these in one of her Tuesday fat 8th giveaways (today's Tuesday people, go enter!) and I completely fell in love, had to have them! Such a great bundle!!
These, I imagine, have lots of you running out to the nearest Joann. Aunt Edna by Denyse Schmidt! I wasn't planning on buying them, but once I saw them in person, well I just couldn't resist. They were 30% off, but I was a bit surprised at the price increase. I only brought home 1/4 yd cuts since I already have a project in mind.
I made a crown with these pretty melon hues yesterday, too!
And finally, my Riley Blake Chevron Cottons. I'm all about chevron anything and everything right now, how about you? These will be for a pin cushion project I'll be doing as part of the RBD 2012 Pin Cushion Club in May.
How about you? What color combinations are you loving these days? Oh! And my two year sew-iversary is in March, which I really want to celebrate, someone please remind me! :)
such a pretty mosaic! great color!
ReplyDeletethanks for the link, maureen!

ReplyDeleteHappy blogaversary! Love the color inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI picked up some of the new DS fabric too. Yes, the price increase was a shock. but the fabric felt nicer that the last ones.
Love "melon" colored anything!! That dandelion grey print is gorgeous and so is the dress form fabric. I've had virtually no time to sew lately :-( and I'm dying to as I've seen all sorts of awesome fabrics!!

ReplyDeletecongrats on your 2nd blogiversary! I love your mosaic, that citrus and melon look so "yummy" together. Great combo. I also love everything and anything chevron, and when it's grey combined with yellow, even better.
ReplyDeleteI'll be here for the giveaway!! Happy anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI am liking the medium gray paired with pretty much anything else. I know there are those that love the gray and those that don't, and I'm one that definitely does!
I looooove those chevron cottons that you have pictured!
Happy two-year blog anniversary, Maureen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us all the chance to enter into this great giveaway.
I don't know if my first comment/post went through, so here 'tis again: My favourite colour combinations depend on the seasons and my own mood, so right now, I'm in love with purple and deep yellow. But I also love blue and orange, and red and green (be it Christmastime or not), and also turquoise blue and deep yellow are beautiful combinations, too.
Have a great week/day celebrating a brilliant and truly happy blog, and thanks again for the chance at all these beautiful fabrics.
Love all the colors and fabrics! I must go sew now!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary too! :)
Happy 2 years! Ok, so do I have that right you have only been sewing for less than 2 years??!! Holy-Moly I need to get on the ball!!!! You do fantastic work! I must say your blog is one of my favorite visits, it feels so cozy. Isn't that weird that the computer screen makes you feel "cozy", but you make it happen! I too love the chevrons and right now I am obsessed with different shades of aquas and corals. Thanks for letting me into your creative world!!
ReplyDeleteHaPpy Blog-iversary! Super awesome for you! I love that little crown you made.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary! Just discovered your blog, and I'm so glad I did! I'm finding myself really drawn to violet and orange, of all things. A year ago, I hated orange! Now, I look for it!

Happy bloganniversary! Two years..yippee.Have fun with your beautiful new fabrics!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on two years. Lots of inspiration here! Hmmm. I'm pretty happy with orange paired with grey or turquoise or pink.
ReplyDeleteOh, such lovely fabrics. I like them all that you have posted. Love the photo collage too. Great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteooh all those pretty colors make me smile. :) I'm still snickering at you forgetting your anniversary. LOL You must have gotten married just a few months before my hubby and I because we'll be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on Julu 13th this year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color combo is always blue and purple but, I'm still really loving the turquoise and red, and lately alot of pink and browns because I'm deciding on fabrics to make our Granddaughter baby stuff in the next couple of weeks. I've procrastinated a LOOONG time and now that she's due in just about two weeks, I guess maybe I should get my backend working on that stuff; don't you? Oh, and yes, I AM the queen of procrastination. (my husband would totally agree considering many times I'm still finishing up Christmas gifts as company is coming in the back door - true story.)
Can't wait till Friday to see what you have up your sleeve.
I really admire your posts, and love the pics, other readers may not know how time consuming it is to compose your posts on blogs (I do and sometimes let mine go for weeks), let alone comprise a collage AND below the picture of everything you have the link to where you found the photo. Your tops girl!
ReplyDeleteHappy two years! Gorgeous fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary! I love following your projects. They inspire me to spend more time being creative!
