An Artifact Uprising Photobook { and GIVEAWAY! } : :

An Artifact Uprising Photobook

I still feel so very new to Instagram and often like a rookie when it comes to quilting. It's been just a little more than two & a half years since I finished my very first quilt and I truly feel that I didn't really "get it" until just this last year. Still, I'm sure it's clear, I love them both -- making quilts and the sharing that comes after! Having such special ways to document and show who I am, what I love, and how I learn & grow as an artist is so incredible! This journey has been a dream come true in countless ways and is constantly being made more amazing. From each new beautiful fabric collection to come out that I just have to sew with, to the new friends I've made from all over the globe, to the extraordinary opportunities that have come my way!

At Artifact Uprising you'll find photobooks, postcards, calendars, and prints all printed on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper and all of their wooden products are made from fallen waste wood.

In their words..

Let's Celebrate Color! {My Fall Inspiration} : :

Have you seen? Rachel of Stitched In Color has organized a fabulous three month long celebration, starting September entitled CELEBRATE COLOR, partnered alongside emma lamb, luvinthemommyhood, and Mollie of wild olive!

Celebrate Color is for fiber artists of all kinds -- embroidery, crochet, knitting, quilting, home decor, clothing and any kind of wearable fiber creations.

Fall sewing has already begun for me, as you may have noticed. The colors I've been pullling are deeper, warmer shades of the brights I usually work with. I find this time of year more inspiring than any other! In additon to all the lovely changes that occur outdoors during this beautiful season, there are many other things that define Fall to me -- sewing with warm colors, casting on with wool, baking, stone fruits and pumpkins, flannel pajama pants, layers of cozy clothing, quilts, and blankets, painted furniture, rustic woods, harvest decor, indoor crafting, and lots of pillows (naturally). Here's a little mosaic of images and inspiration of the plans I have for sewing and knitting this Fall.

I'm linking this up with the start of Celebrate Color...and now it's your turn! Get creative, get crafting, start thinking cozy fall and join in the celebration!

New Camera : :

Well, my new camera finally arrived! I was a bit worried when the estimated shipping date was between January 18th -- February 20th, but it made it's way to my front door on Monday. The battery was dead, of course, and after an over-night charge I've been playing around with it for the last two days and feel like today something finally has clicked (thank you Cynthia). I thought it was going to be easier to use than my ten year old point and click...why did I think that? So, here are a few of the photos I have taken so far...
