My Little Red : :

I finished up Haila's Little Red Riding Hood costume last night, so we had to celebrate with a quick photo-shoot in the yard.

Boy was it difficult to choose what photos to share! I realize there are alot, sorry! And even more here, not to mention a hundred more I didn't share. I have to say, we are both pretty thrilled with this costume!

I made the hood out of a faux velvet material that was already lined with satin on the inside, that I picked up on super sale at the nearest Joann. I traced one of Haila's poncho sweaters for the shape, adding some addition length. For the dress, just a simple patchwork, full apron style dress with some Denise Schmidt and a few prints from Pink Castle Fabrics. I included a little Dresden detail to the bib, since I have a bit of an obsession with Dresden's at the moment. : )

Oh, does it feel good to cross this costume off my to-do list! And, many thanks to all my Facebook friends for giving the photo I shared last night so much love. It made my night!!!

I just entered this costume of ours in the fabric wearables category of Celebrate Color. Wish me luck!!!

To. Do : :

Today I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and well aware that I may have just a few too many projects waiting to be finished and started.

I thought it might help to make myself a little to-do list. I'm also hoping you might help me make a few decisions. Here it goes...

-- I just started this Dresden project the other day that will become a new Fall pillow for my Mom. Right now it measures 12" x 18" and I hope to have the finished pillow front be an 18" square. I'm just not sure what I should do to add the other 6" I need -- add a single fabric? patchwork? a few stripes of fabric? I'd love your ideas on this one!

Dresden wip

-- With Halloween fast approaching, I just stashed these Denise Schmidt fabrics with hopes to make a patchwork, apron-style dress as part of Haila's Little Red Riding-hood costume. I am feeling very inspired by this recent pin! I just need to find the right red/white gingham and begin!

For my Little Red

-- A little while ago I picked up this $5 chair that, as you can see, is in desperate need of recovering. Do you have a favorite Home Dec fabric? I'd love to see, I really need to find something soon!

$5 Chair project

-- The fabric I just ordered for finishing my new quilt top just arrived. After I add the border, this quilt top will be completely finished!

Sketchbook Quilt wip

-- I'm hoping to make some more progress on my my Bottled Rainbows Quilt today! Sometimes I feel like I took on too much with my plan for this quilt. I cannot wait to have this one completely finished!

In the midst of so much, I'm doing my very best to keep up. Thank you for all the comments lately, it really helps!
