For Now : :

It's been a rough few days. Our little guy Jacob started with a flu last Thursday, ended up going to the ER over the weekend, so very sick, and was admitted into the hospital for a mysterious, severe GI infection and Colitis. I've never seen a child so sick. Thankfully, we are back home now, but what a scary ordeal. It's going to take some time for him to heal up from all of this and I'm going to be right by his side while he recovers. As a result, I'm really behind on orders, blog posts, and my Quilt Market plans, but that's okay. Right now there is nothing more important.

It's a beautiful time to be here in Potter County, this time of year the Fall foliage is amazing, and today it's perfectly sunny and cool. If he feels up to it, maybe we'll take a little drive for fresh air and quilt pictures this week. I have a bunch of Quilt Market Fleet & Flourish finishes to share, including two newly finished quilts I've been sharing peeks of on Instagram and Facebook.

I started a third just before what we thought was just a little bug turned frightening. I do hope to work on it and all the catching up I need to do, when I get a little time and while he naps, but for now I have to lower expectations of myself, keeping up the best I can, while letting go of all plans.

If I'm back soon with something photographed to share, that means things are looking up. Take care, friends! ♡ Maureen

  1. My daughter is will be turning 30 in March, so it has been many years since facing any issues such as what you are going through. I am thrilled that you got to bring your little one home and can take care of him and fully nurse him back to health with your love. Isn't it amazing how fresh air, a change of scenery and a few smiles and giggles will help to heal also; I do hope that you get to take that ride. Definitely put everything on the back burners and worry about catch up at a later date, it will all work itself out. God speed to health for all of you!

  33. Family always comes first, but I know how tough it is when family gets sick right as a deadline approaches. Be gentle on yourself, although it sounds like you are in a good place. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers for a smooth recovery, quickly growing quilting windows of time for you to finish your projects, and a peaceful week.

  36. I do hope that Jacob is back up to par. How scary! I hated when my daughter was little and couldn't tell exactly what hurt or how she felt. One time her fever got to 104. Scared me to death.
We'll still be here so take care of that family first.
    Hugs

  41. Thank God your son got better and he got better! I wish you further recovery. If it's not difficult, could you elaborate on the causes of this disease? By the way, the photos that you attached to this post look cheerful and bright! I think if you posted them on your Instagram account, they would definitely get a bunch of likes. I saw similar pictures there and they all had at least 13 thousand likes! I'm sure their authors used the help of https://soclikes.com/buy-instagram-likes to buy likes.
