Handmade ♥ : :

Hello! Gosh, I'm so behind on photographing my things to share here! I have a quilt finish, some more Making Rows quilt panels, a new quilt pattern in the works, and lots of Birthday Crown & Fox pillow orders all waiting for me to share, but instead today I want to show off a few of the wonderful handmade things I've received or have collected for birthday/holiday gift giving recently!

Handmade ♥

First, there's this beautiful fabric organizer/portfolio gifted to me by my friend Heidi. It was a complete surprise when it arrived yesterday in the mail, I love it! This Fort Firefly fabric by Birch Fabrics is one collection I can't wait to stash. It's so pretty!

Fabric Portfolio from Heidi!

Organizer ♥

To have received something so special from my talented friend made my week! Thank you so much Heidi!!

This sweet, pieced Fox Zip Pouch is made by Small Town Thread. I ordered this one for my little girl Haila, who's ready to start sewing!

Fox Pouch for Embroidery

This summer she got to play around on my machine a little and has asked for a machine of her own for her birthday in December. Having this chance to pick out some sewing supplies with her in mind is about as awesome as it gets!

Sew Fantastic makes these super cute Crayon Wallets, along with an amazing & colorful variety of pouches and other handy wallets! The best place to shop Terri's things is here, on Instagram. I bought myself a wallet from her a month or so ago and it's one of my most favorite things ever!

These Crayon Wallets I'm saving for Christmas, they go so perfectly with the new sketchbooks I ordered from Stubby Pencil Studios!

Crayon Wallets & Sketchies

This year, I'm making an extra effort to make & support handmade even more than in years past. I'm getting so close to reaching my goal of making each of my children, nieces, and nephews their own quilt to give at Christmas, and I'm hoping to have enough time to make at least one more for whoever I get in our family gift exchange. How about you, are you planning to give a little handmade this holiday season? I'd love more ideas, so feel free to share your shop link or one you happen to favorite! I have lots of people on my gift list!!

  8. Heidi is pretty awesome! I love what she sent you! She sent me Heather Ross fabric after I saw one of her quilts and couldn't get over the horses I missed out on! So sweet! I plan on meeting up with her while we are in Cali in December! I bet that makes your heart swell with pride that your daughter wants to sew and a machine! I can't wait for Addison to ask me the same thing! The. I can say the fabric is for her and not me! lol I think I might make some other family members some patchwork pillows for gifts. Running out of time with the move coming up next month, but their is always next year! :)

  9. I love that fox pouch! So cute! I'm working on a baby quilt for my cousin's new baby that will be her Christmas present (I drew her in our extended family swap)! I am also working on a quilt for my sister (but it is technically a belated birthday present) and have a quilt planned for my brother for early next year.

  11. Just lovely. I have started my gift making for Christmas, it includes make up bags for about a dozen of my daughters's friends, fabric baskets, tree ornaments, stockings, placemats and coasters for all of the family. It makes me happy to give gifts I have made and I know they are happy to receive them.

  25. Congratulations to our own Maureen for her Craftsy win! The accolades are well-deserved.

This post reminds me of someone I met through work, whose family gift exchange had a "Make It, Bake It, Sew It, or Grow It" rule. Don't you love it?

  26. Congratulations again on your Crafsy win!

I do have my little shop in Etsy:
    https://www.etsy.com/shop/vrbabiesnkids
But I haven't sold any quilts recently just blankets. Quilts seem to take a long time and blankets and quick and fun! I hope you get to checkout my little shop.
I do more on my blog though: http://malinisquilts.blogspot.com
    Happy Quilting!

  27. Ohhh I love your fabric portfolio. I've been working one through in my head for my bestie to give for Christmas. I love to see what others do with them. I was thinking about it to keep track of quilt info to be make as well as a place to sketch out ideas for quilts. I actually have a large 3 ring binder and then I want to put quilt info sheets and graph paper into them. I thought it would be fun to make the inside cover with a place for colored pencils and a small quilting ruler. Of course this would mean I have to make one for myself. I'm definitely going to check out Sew Fantastic, good stuff.
