This morning I had Birthday Crown orders to finish up and an appointment, and to tell the truth I am completely out of my
I can't believe how quickly May is going by! How about you? I love Spring and really wish it was a longer season here. I'm trying to freshen up the living room a little before Summer. I brought in some Forsythia for the mantel, I love the bright yellow! But when the temperature dropped and I was completely exhausted early last week, my living room sewing plans were delayed when I decided to make myself some gluten free cookies, recipe here, for breakfast. I'm sharing because they really were the best GF cookies I've made and everyone loved them! Now I'm planning to make an ottoman slipcover for Lily's new favorite corner of the living room. Penelope doesn't love the hardwood, she just slips all over the place, so Lily has taken retreat there. I picked out this gorgeous Portfolio Capparis print in Sunshine. I love it so much!! Once I finish my little home decor diy project, I plan to host a special giveaway sponsored by OFS right here!
Penelope is doing great! We had just a couple accidents last week, which were contained to her kennel, which kind of threw us, especially since she made them shortly after coming in from outside? I keep referring to the comments you all left for us in my post introducing Penny for guidance! You guys really are the best!!
This week I'm having a sale in my etsy for 20% off any crown or felt purchase. Just use coupon code Spring20 at checkout.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! And a BIG thanks in advance to those of you who stop by my shop this week! ♥, Maureen
You sure have a lovely home. Your kitty and pup are so cute. I remember those days of getting up with my pups.....smile.
ReplyDeleteI was also looking at the party hats. My granddaughter is named Isla......you don't see that name very often.
I've actually made a couple Isla crowns now! It's a beautiful name!!
DeleteI thought I would never sew again with the addition of our puppy. He was sooo time consuming. I really loved it when he started learning commands so I felt like I could communicate with him better. It will get easier! And having the extra help once the kids are home will be welcome I'm sure :)
ReplyDeleteAs for accidents in the kennel...make sure it's small enough. You can divide it by placing a box in there to take up space if it's too big. Also, is she definitely going when she's outside? I know it's a pain, but wait until she does her business out there before bringing her in. Most likely, she hasn't finished if she's going as soon as she's coming in. Is it more in the mornings? Sometimes after a long snooze it takes a couple pees before they are empty. I make my pup walk over his potty area a second time after he's gone once to make sure he's empty as he usually goes twice in the mornings. Just a thought. Those were the usual accident culprits in our house.
Beautiful Spring pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat print is gorgeous! Love your beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteThe puppy is super cute! Hope you get some sleep :)
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is fab, and the sleep-stealer is still looking remarkably cute ;o)
ReplyDeleteCan I just say we are still enjoying the crowns you made for the girls last year?!? We pulled them out yesterday in honor of my little one's second birthday. They are still as beautiful as when you first made them. Thanks for being part of our birthday ritual, Maureen.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful cozy homey home! I could just walk right in and sit down and never leave. You're doing such a great job with it! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour home and fur babies are gorgeous!!! I hear ya on "new" routines. It all works itself out as I am sure you know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pretties with us.
When I've been outside in the cold, I always have to pee just as soon as I come into the warm house. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteLove the new ottoman fabric and the forsythia looks beautiful. The kitty is very photogenic and that puppy is adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove your kitty (beauty!) and Penelope! So precious!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo has really struck me...I am designing my new creative space for our new home and I want to have a corner like this, with a comfy chair and light. Thanks for the inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteShe is just the cutest!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos, Maureen! The fabric is so pretty in those colors. I've been having a hard time finding a routine that works and I don't have any distractions! Well, maybe the fact that it's springtime is a distraction, lol!!
ReplyDeleteYour blog, home, and work are lovely! In the last picture, I love the floral fabric of the quilt that Penny is in - do you know what designer that is? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's a folksy flannel by Anna Maria Horner. I just did a quick etsy search and found it here -- https://www.etsy.com/listing/57662589/anna-maria-horner-folksy-flannel?ref=shop_home_active&ga_search_query=flannel
DeleteThank you very much, Maureen! Appreciate it.
DeleteSuch a cute puppy. And that fabric is gorgeous. Wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteOh your puppy is so adorable! I am sure its like having another baby!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the precious time!
Love the fabrics too!
Love, love, love your ottoman fabric (AND your chaise). Penny is just the cutest. Hope your kitty isn't too jealous of the attention the new fur baby is getting.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is beautiful. It is about time I learn to sew something new!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
