An Urban Mod Shower Curtain { and Fabric GIVEAWAY! } : :

Urban Mod Shower Curtain

Art Gallery Fabrics Fat Quarter Gang
Happy Monday, friends!

I'm so excited to be sharing a new
Fat Quarter Gang project on the Art Gallery Fabrics Blog today! Along with an amazing Fabric Giveaway right here, of course!

This time I'm sharing a "make it your own" tutorial for an Urban Mod Shower Curtain, using a store-bought white curtain and giving it an Urban Mod style upgrade with some fun patchwork and raw-edge applique!

1 Supplies

Urban Mod is a very stylish and modern collection, full of yummy yellows, aqua blues, greys, and a wonderful smoky purple-mauve color! A simple patchwork of each print seemed like the pefect way to showcase this cool collection, however a quilt in these fabrics would be so amazing!!

7 repeat with all 12 squares

Urban Mod Shower Curtain before applique

I tried my best to get some photos of this new shower curtain in action, in our upstairs bathroom. It's a very small room with out a window or any natural light coming in from a hallway window, just harsh vanity lighting here!

Thank goodness I was able to get a few bright and happy photos outside, when the wind would cooperate! Be sure to check out the full tutorial on the Art Gallery Fabrics Blog today!

I took store bought lace curtains and embellished with satin ribbon-flowers and ribbon.I weaved the satin ribbon through the ruffled through the edges, and through the tiebacks. used the little flowers to hide the hooks. 95. I have made my own of several things. I deconstructed bassinet sheet that came with my bassinet, and came up with a pattern to make more (one sheet for a baby is never enough!)
I have made baby snuggle wraps (from a pattern).
I have made Boppy pillow covers from a simple pattern, and tweaked it a bit to the way I like it.
I made a peasant dress for a costume, and instead of doing conventional gathers for the ruffles, I used the ruffled foot on my sewing machine.

  97. I actually made myself a pieced shower curtain - it was the largest piece I ever made until this past fall when I made my son an oversized King quilt. My shower curtain uses a daisy pattern with bright reds, oranges and yellows, sashed with 1"black for a stained glass window effect - tons of cutting and sewing but I still love it. I figure when I am tired of it I can convert it to a quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I love the shower curtain! Been meaning to make mine forever but just went out and bought one instead. I have done so many fabric modifications it is nice when I actually like a pattern the way it is. Gives me a little break from all those hamsters running in my brain :)

Love Urban Mod, currently using it to make a wall hanging for my living room. I could use some more for a matching curtain!
