Two Hours : :

Most days I get about two good hours in my sewing room...

with Ray LaMontagne on Pandora, silly interruptions from my little helper, rain outside the window, a hot cup of coffee, gorgeous fabrics all around me, and of course, some sewing

  3. Two sewing hours? Oh gosh, I am little bit jealous!

If I am lucky I get about 2-3 hours per week. But that's OK. It seems that I get enough done. :)

    Happy sewing!

  7. Ray Lamontagne is perfect sewing music - often my first choice too! Your sewing room seems like a fun place.

  8. 2 Hours!!!!! 3 children!!!!
I have 1 child (and one on the way) I dream about 2 hours a day. Maybe when I'm a little less tired, although I'm currently thinking a little less cleaning and a little more sewing, I'll start a trial and see when my husband notices! ;)
Probably when he runs out of socks.

    1. I do have an etsy shop where I receive about a dozen orders each week, which makes sewing my job, which makes me very happy!

I have a desk in here now for whoever is in here with me, so that really helps. I honestly don't know how you mother's of little, little children do it. There is a reason I didn't start sewing until my youngest was three!! :)

    2. Ah, I feel so much better now, my son turned 3 last week and is just starting to play for the odd bit here and there on his own. It's nice to see there is a light!

  9. Wow. If you really only have 2 good hours a day, you are incredibly productive. The number and range of your projects amazes me. You are really talented.

  12. I would have so much time to sew, but I have so many things going on that I don't always get to it. I want so badly to have an area of the house that's just mine for sewing. I have a hard time being creative though. Where do you get all your inspiration for all your projects?

    1. I feel very blessed to have my own room here, although lately it is starting to feel a little like the walls are closing in on me. At least they are walls full of pretty fabrics!

More than anything I think I am inspired by fabrics. So many collection just look like they would be the perfect bag or pillow or quilt to me, and so that's what they become or are waiting to become!! :)

  14. Maureen I love all of your beautiful projects. I just started quilting about a year ago so I am a bit slow getting things completed--I work full time outside the house. I used to obcess about having my house clean before I sew, but I have gotten over that. I spend as much time as I can, but it still isn't enough. Happy Sewing. Jerry Beavers

    1. Thank you Jerry! Oh, I use to be that way, but not anymore! It's much easier for me to clean the house with the kids running around and needing things, than it is for me to find that good sewing time. I make sure to make the most of the sewing time I do have and I'm happy to say everyone is use to that now! :)

  17. 2 hours would be bliss! My eldest starts school in September and I finish school in October and then...then I'll have sewing time. Enjoy.

Also, I may be missing the obvious, but what is that lovely butterfly fabric. It's singing my name.

    1. Evie, I know I'm lucky to have it! I try to make the most of it, and most of the time it feels like I'm sewing for speed! LOL

The fabric is Cocoon by Valori Wells. I hung it there to see if I really, really want this collection and I've decide -- I do! ;)

  20. I've wondered how much sewing you get to do during the week! (I get lots! It's just poorly planned. :)) Gosh I love that Cocoon! And I think I need to start hanging unfinished blocks around my room so I can enjoy them before they get shipped off! xx

  21. Love the fabrics in the first picture. Can you tell me what line they are and the color names of the solids? I think I might need to add some to my stash. By the way, how is the new machine working? Thanks So Much!
