My Favorite Girl : :

me and my girl

I'm not sure how much sewing I'll actually get done today. If I'm not sewing, I might as well be dreaming about a fun project for when the time comes, right? It sure makes the waiting much easier to handle.

So, I'm writing down the ingredients for that next perfect sewing session.

-- Plenty of my favorite fabrics, good music, the beginnings of an exciting new sketch stitch mini quilt, and of course - my favorite girl! I know she's just as excited about this new project, as I am!

How about you? What sewing projects are you just beginning or looking forward to starting these days?

  1. I just started a quilt for my Aunt... Very scrappy. Looking forward to piecing it.

  2. I just received some fabrics pre-printed with dolls/toys. I can't wait to cut them out and stitch them up (I love the instant gratification of pre-printed fabrics like that). I'm especially looking forward to the dolls. They have ship tattoos meant to be embroidered. I want to stitch those ships so badly!

  3. Love your little girl....what a sweet Mommy/Daughter picture. I have a label to stitch in a baby quilt I just finished that our Guild gives to our tri-counties for new Mothers but that's about all the sewing for today. I need to do some other things around here now!

  4. I have a baby quilt to start for a little girl who is due the end of May, need to get my older daughter's quilt quilted, and many summer dresses. And, believe me, the list goes on.

I have to say, I'm enamored of your "sketches" the process fascinates me.

  5. Cuteness! Can't wait to see what you stitch up. I'm looking forward to making a quilt for my baby girl's room, but first I've got to get my scrappy quilt done!

  12. I'm looking forward to getting started on a toaster cosie for my new toaster. I've finished designing and measuring and now I'm looking forward to finding all the fabric colours I'm imagining. Hopefully I'll get it finished in time for the feather your nest sew along :)

  14. I've been enjoying the Zakka Sew Along, but meanwhile, I've got three projects brewing in my head (at least): two of Amy Friend's garden themed paper piecing projects, and Sew Sweetness' New York Beauty sewalong, AND, my own paintings are bobbing around in there too. Can't say I don't have enough ideas, but perhaps I'm missing enough hours in the day!
    I love your Favorite Girl(s)!

  17. I love your gift. I can't believe you have only started sewing in the past few years. Amazing. Your girls ('specially your fav) are great. I've never done that kind of sewing, but then again, I'm not very skilled at drawing. So this afternoon I'm going to practice my drawing. I think I'll start with an aardvark. Poor creature - it has a great name, and really cool features, but almost no "air time" in the creative circles. :)
