I woke up early this morning and came right into my sewing room.
Right away I began to sew my rainbow quilt blocks together. Thirty five minutes and two rows in and I had my first visitor. And, then my second....and then third.
It felt like Summer and reminded me just how my sewing time was last year -- a few minutes here, a few minutes there. Most the time that's alright, but this morning I was really hoping for at least an hour!
I'm hoping to find a little more time to finish off this quilt top today, wish me luck!
♥ Maureen
I love this quilt! Can't wait to see it finished, colors are amazing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I am in awe!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Can't wait to see it finished!!
ReplyDeleteMaureen,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! You are my favorite fiber artist (not sure if that is what you like to be called). I really love seeing the way you combine fabric. I saw this quilt picture today on Facebook and excitedly jumped on over to your blog to get a better look and to see what you had to say about it. It's amazing! Those bright colors make me happy. :)
Good luck getting the quilt finished today!
WOW, thank you!! You can see more of this quilt in yesterday's post here -- http://maureencracknellhandmade.blogspot.com/2012/04/bottled-rainbows.html

Thanks, Maureen! I'll take a look.
DeleteI am thinking about doing the bottled rainbow ticker tape quilt. Not sure when I'll find the time, but I think this quilt would be right up my alley - the colors and the "design as you go" aspect. Love it!
who were your visitors?? your kids? the strips look great...
ReplyDeleteYes! :) I guess that was a bit cryptic. They are home for Easter break again today -- with the size of this quilt, my lack of table space, and all three of them (and my cat) in here demanding breakfast, I had to quit! Usually they are welcome, but it's been a couple of weeks now since I have had any alone time and I am craving it! :)
DeleteI find this is the norm for me right now with 2 under 3! I have a pile of just-laundered new fabric that desperately needs ironing and I have so many projects in mind, but other things keep taking over! Grab those minutes when you can. The quilt looks lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteVisitors are nice! Your quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is going to be fabulous! I hope you get a long stretch of sewing time soon!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is wonderful. I think it is my favorite of the rainbow variety.
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen! Good luck! Can't wait to see the finished product :))

I hope you find that time! Good luck Maureen!!! =D
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt! Hope you find the time to finish it off =D
ReplyDeleteI love this bottled rainbow quilt top! It is just so beautiful! How will you finish the back? Is that bunting on the chair for a reason?
ReplyDeleteThanks Rebecca! The finish will be pretty simple -- I plan to stitch in the ditch in between each block, the bunting fabric will be the center back fabric, I am still deciding on what fabrics to add to the sides of that print?

ReplyDeleteHeh, you need a sign to stick on the front door 'I can't come out to play, I'm busy sewing' ;o)
ReplyDeleteI love your motivation- I swear I have not even turned on my sewing machine in a couple months! I don't know what's wrong with me...
ReplyDeleteI saw your Bottled Rainbow blocks the other day but didn't have time to comment (sound familiar?) - I love these!
