Weekend Spring Sewing : :

Yesterday I had myself the longest sewing day to date!

I worked on a tutorial for a Spring Twine Garland.

Twine Pompom Garland

I admired my lovely new stack of Summerlove.

Summerlove

Decided I needed to cut into them ever so slightly, to realize a Spring Pillow idea.

Summerlove Birdie

Mostly worked on these, plus a dozen others that didn't get finished until the wee hours.

Gold Crowns!

Made this ridiculous and smelly mistake at some point during all the making. Ack!

Oops!

Had to cash in this coupon just as soon as the kids were home.

Cashed In!

Continued to dream up a plan for my new sketch stitch girl.

Today, I'm wishing you all a wonderful Monday morning and I'm wondering, what did you make this weekend?

  1. Sadly, nothing. We had a busy (family) weekend since the girls and I had a four day weekend from school(today is our last day off). I'm hoping to get some sewing done with my new stack of fabrics that came last week.
    Love your birdie!:)

  2. I was able to get 16 crayon art folios started for the children's hospital here in Spokane WA. Did all the ironing and the small stitching and now just have to assemble them today. Then on to the 24 pillows I hope to make by the end of next week - thinking silly monsters!

  4. I finally finished the curtains for my sister as well as a knitting project for my future sister-in-law. To reward myself for that as well as cleaning ym windows, I resisted doing anything for most of Sunday, then whipped up a frame purse with some Outfoxed in the evening. :)

  7. Fun little weekend tour =). This weekend my mom and I made more headway on the garden, transplanting, moving rocks, taking out weeds like wild women. Next weekend we are to lay a new stone walkway. I miss my sewing machine!

  8. I made a mess this weekend. I was "cleaning" and now I'm surrounded by piles of stuff that need to be put away. So unfortunately I did no sewing. I actually was getting ready to finish up a bag I've been making and I spent several HOURS looking for the handles. I think a toddler got to them, they are GONE!!! *sigh*

  9. I cleaned all day Saturday so that I didn't feel bad when I sat at the machine all day Sunday , My grand babies were in and out all day as they usually are , I'm blessed that they live downstairs from me . and I'm able to see them each and every day , But I was able to finally finish up some sewing projects , and now they go out to my long arm gal who works her mo-Jo
as they are way to large to go thru my machine .
Hope everyone else had a great weekend , Sad that it was a tad cooler but probably back to normal temps

    1. We were spoiled with gorgeous weather here last week! Now, it's back to being cold like a true Potter County March. I'm glad you found some sewing time!! I took wonderful advantage of the rain all day yesterday! ;)

  10. This weekend I was very proud of myself. I finished quilting 2 baby quilts and just need to finish turning the binding. And I pieced and sandwiched a mug rug for a friend. I will finish quilting it today (not that I have the right color thread). I started my daughter's sewing lessons. Step 1 - Familiarize her with the machine. Step 2 - How to use rotary cutter. Her excitement is so contagious.

  22. Your little bird is sweet as can be. I work 3 12hr night shifts this weekend so the only thing I made were 2 sore feet. I have off the next four days so I am starting now.

  27. Do you ever sleep?? LOVE the little birds! I'm hoping to (finally) finish a doll quilt and work on a seascape quilt that's sadly still in the pile of beautiful fabrics stage. But in the meantime, I have some Etsy orders to finish---and I'm grateful for that.

  31. I started sewing in home ec class in high school. The first thing I sewed was my first prom dress. Then I made the double breasted suit that my husband wore in our wedding. I take sewing classes as often as I can because I want to learn how to do it all. I currently sew mostly quiltsmwith some clothing mixed in. I am currently sewing some clothes for my grandson.

  32. Unfortunately not much got done here :( The hubby had an eye infection and men when they're sick... Well you probably know how that ends. When you made the bird do you use a fusible web or something on the back or is it just fabric to fabric? Still loving your sketch girl.
