Color Inspiration & An Aurifil GIVEAWAY : :

Tangerine, oranges, and coral really are everywhere these days, aren't they? I love it! It's such a happy, vibrant color. I am especially loving it paired with purple! When putting together this new mosaic, I had to search for another colorful house. That purple one was pinned just a little less than a million times I think! Thanks Michael!!

I have been enjoying Aurifil threads to use in my own projects for a couple of weeks now. I can honestly say, that threads really do make a huge difference, especially when they come in colors as brilliant as these!

    Lovely! If I have to sew something visible and I don't have a matching color tread, I use something contrasting, often enough black. But I'm adding to my treadstash ;)

    I love to use beautiful threads for plying my handspun yarn, especially variegated threads. Neutral colored variegated are my favorites- the hand dyed colors still shine through.

    I already follow Aurifil on facebook which is how I found out about this great giveaway. I'm not sure I have a favorite color because I think every color is fantastic. I love red, but lately orange has been a favorite ever since Pat Sloan did an orange challenge a year or so ago I have loved orange. I use grey aurifil to piece with and I try to use coordinating multicolor threads to quilt with. I just love color in general!!

    Favorite thread color?? Would have to be gray for piecing a quilt together. I find it's a great neutral color.

    BTW- Orange has always been my favorite color, so I am happy, happy that it's the color of the year!!

    My very first sewing project when I was 12 was a button down, bowling-type shirt made of solid orange cotton. I wore that shirt proudly.

    I don't need to win the thread but just wanted to comment to tell you that I am envious of your orange stash! I have recently become enraptured with orange myself and just can't seem to get enough of it! It makes me wonder if the hues of orange have changed somewhat this year and make them more attractive to me or if its a new found love? Needless to say...I am in love with ORANGE!!     If I'm sewing things like bags, I like the thread to be contrasting and stand out but I've never tried that with quilting - always a blending in color. I'd love to be brave enough to change that!

    I use white mostly but have been edging off into *shocker!* off white and light grays! But if color is called for, I have no qualms adding it!

    I follow Aurifil on FB. I have to admit that I love all colors but my fave is purple, am making a mystery quilt with purple and plan to use Aurifil (I only use Aurifil) purple to hand quilt it.

    I love Aurifil! Already a fan on FB. I have to admit that anything purple is my fav... I am making a mystery quilt out of purples and plan to hand quilt it with purple Aurifil of course.

    the two thread colors i run out of most often (after white, of course) are dark taupe (one that blends with linen) and charcoal grey (my favorite accent color). thanks so much for the chance!

    Aurafil is the best thread ever! I've been using it for 5 years! I love to piece quilt blocks with it. I love the colors and the way it looks when I machine quilt! My very favorite. Thread for sure!!!
