Fabric and Felt Flowers : :

I've been busy making these fabric and felt flowers, as well as trying to put together my first ever tutorial to share with all of you. They are for a children's table at a wedding, with specific colors - so they aren't the usual bright colors I'm used to using, and you're used to seeing here. They would be a lovely gift or decoration anywhere in your home, and I plan on making some more, with lots of colors, very soon. They are so quick and easy to make, and such a great way to use up fabric scraps.

Haila just loves them...
She helped me pick out the buttons...
And when I asked her to pick out her favorite...
Just like her Mama...
She picked the flower made with some scraps of Anna Maria's good folks fabric...
I was proud Mama, smiling behind my camera... Tutorial very soon!

  3. These are so simple and the uses for them are endless. I plan on using them on headbands, for ponytail holders, and to add to a few new dresses for Haila. For me, I definitely want to add some to a few new pillows I am making.

  4. Those are so lovely. They remind me of my great-grandmother. She used to make life-like flowers out of this paper called wood fiber which can't be found anywhere anymore. Brides used to pay her to make them because, back then, real flowers were harder to come by unless you wanted fresh wildflowers!

  6. I love them!!!! I know I'll be making a few myself soon. Are they easy enough for kids to make? I'm searching for some simple but worthwhile crafts for the kids to do this summer.

  11. Superb423 -- Hi! Thanks for visiting me here. I, unfortunately, lost the photos I had taken of my fabric flower making. Next time I make more (soon) I will photograph the process and FINALLY have that tutorial I promised. Be sure to stop back!

  12. Do you think my Daisy Troop could make these? I wonder if it would be dangerous to give the Kindergarten girls needles? My daughter has been sewing with me a couple of years now, (I think they're ready) but one pricked thumb could equal one angry Mom.
