The Nightfall LookBook // Garments & Bags : :

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's peek at some of my favorite Nightfall quilt projects! Today I want to continue showcasing some Nightfall sewing ideas with the spotlight on all the amazing, inspirational garments and bags that were created for the LookBook. These makers have all amazed me with their talents, not just from what each of them has made, but equally with how they all were able to capture the soul of this collection, from the special details of their work to the extraordinary photography!

Nightfall is here!

Art Gallery Fabrics quilting cottons are famous for their unique feel and drape, extending their use far beyond the pillows and quilts I love to make, to being an amazing substrate for all kinds of garment making!

In addition to the twenty Nightfall quilting cottons, are four high quality knits that are perfect for mixing and matching into simple and stylish fashions, in prints chosen from my Nightfall designs that are just perfect for casual tees, sweet dresses, skirts, and more!

My eggplant moon phase print, Lunation in Dark was chosen to be my sole Nightfall Voile. This favorite pattern of mine strikes a balance between powerful and pretty and is printed on the most buttery-soft, gorgeous voile to be used in a full range of sewing projects from wearables to quilts!

For my single canvas Nightfall print we chose my magical forest, Mystical Woods in Solar print. It's subtle & sweet with it's peachy-pink coloring, but sophisticated and fun, too! The scale and more heavy-duty weight of this fabric makes it perfect for bag making, fashion, and home décor. I'm most excited about the bags!!

Nightfall for Garments!

Below are some stunning examples from the Nightfall LookBook of how these fabrics can be used to create amazing clothing!

Ali Brorsen of Because of Brenna, who specialized in children's clothing, created several truly magical Nightfall dresses using Violet Field Thread patterns and a variety of quilting cottons and knits. You can find direct links for recreating these gorgeous looks throughout the LookBook!

The AGF Studio did an amazing job making adult sized garments using a collection of quilting cottons, knits, and voile for the LookBook! These patterns and photos are so perfectly Nightfall!

Alexis Wright of My Sweet Sunshine always creates amazing, unique handmade clothing. She completely stunned me with the dramatic Bird of Night owl skirt on this Violet Field Threads Madison Maxi Dress! Her littler dresses are so adorable and showcase perfectly the sweeter side of Nightfall.

The Fleet & Flourish Blog Tour : Alexis Wright & GIVEAWAY!

When I get the chance to share garments made using my fabric designs it's so exciting for me! Learning to sew clothing is a big life goal of mine, but until that happens, I rely on my friends who do it so well to showcase my fabrics in all the ways I can't! Today's Fleet & Flourish Blog Tour guest is one of my very favorite sewing friends and clothing maker! When I reached out to Alexis Wright of My Sweet Sunshine asking her to make something for the tour, she suggested making something for herself and I was delighted!

I sent Alexis several yards of my Fleet & Flourish knit Thriving Threads in Light and I love what she created! This pretty dress is the Bridgetown Backless Dress by pattern maker Sew House Seven!

My Sweet Sunshine : :

Throughout the next few weeks, in between new quilty posts, I want to share in detail the bags and garments that were made for my Quilt Market booth by some amazing ladies in our sewing community. I can't thank them enough for their help and I'm really excited to share their work here! I sent most of my booth items back with Art Gallery Fabrics for my Wild & Free look book due out later this month along with the collection, I can't wait! Once those items arrive back I hope to share all that I created individually, as well.

Today I'm sharing the work of Alexis of My Sweet Sunshine, a children's clothing etsy shop full of beautiful, unique handmade garments!

This first dress was a booth favorite! It's the LilyGiggle Zinnia Dress pattern made with a Woven Path Knit bodice, a London Red and Honey Pure Element skirt, with sweet lace trim.

Isn't Alexis' photography dreamy? I couldn't love her work more! You can see this dress hanging on the right wall of my booth. It was so eye catching and showcased perfectly how beautifully the Art Gallery Fabric knits work with their quilting cottons for garment sewing!

Wild & Free at Quilt Market

This next dress pattern is the Create Kids Couture Cora Dress made with both Wild & Free knits, Woven Path and Sun Tracks!

My Sweet Sunshine + Wild & Free

This tiered sun dress pattern combined with the AGF knits creates the softest, most flowing, twirly little girl dress I have ever seen! I was constantly pulling it off the rack to fan out so my booth visitors could see just how lovely it is!

My Sweet Sunshine + Wild & Free

The final outfit is one I would love to wear myself, the Voile Blouse pattern by Cali Fay in AGF Pure Element Honey paired with the Leggings pattern by Violette Field Threads using my Sun Tracks knit fabric!

My Sweet Sunshine + Wild & Free

I can't thank Alexis enough for her help in creating my Quilt Market booth. I'm in awe of her generousity and amazing talent! It's such an honor to be able to share her work here with all of you today. You can continue to follow her work on facbeook and Instagram, as well as visit the My Sweet Sunshine etsy shop to see more of the special items she creates, along with her amazing photography!
