Community Sampler Week #11!

Happy Wednesday and block release day of the Community Sampler sew-along!

New Four-Patch Block

This week's release is for block number TEN of the Community sampler! For those of you that are new to my blog, Sharon Holland and I are co-hosting this block-of-the-week community sew-along, and you can visit my Community Sampler Page above in my tabs bar to retrieve all of the released PDF's so far to jump in anytime! We're so thrilled to have so many sewing with us once again!

Community Sampler Sew-Along

Today's PDF is block TEN -- New Four-Patch. For this week's block we're making two-at-a-time Half-Square Triangles, a technique we've used quite a bit throughout the making of our sampler, plus  we're sewing together tiny 2" patches to create our New Four-Patch blocks. For my block I cut 2" patches from my D & E prints as directed in the instructions, but be sure to visit Sharon's blog today to see her tips for easy strip piecing! This is my favorite block that Sharon has made for her all-solids version of the Community Sampler, so be sure to check it out!

Community Sampler Week #11!

For my Community Sampler I'm using prints from my Love Story collection for Art Gallery Fabrics, and this week's block includes -- Love Birds Celeste, Reflection of Love Deep, Darling Echoes Red, Flower Stamp Spell and (not shown) Delicate Veil!

Blcok Ten Fabrics

This week we all get to enjoy easy cutting, with just a variety of 2" and 4" cuts required to create this block. I believe these 2" patches are the smallest pieces we've used in any of our blocks so far. It was fun to work with such cute pieces!

New Four-Patch Cuts

When it came time to sew my four-patch units together I enjoyed chain piecing these little patches together! Since this is a first little peek, I have to mention that I spent this past weekend painting a few furniture pieces in my studio, including my sewing table and I'm so excited to share the results! I plan to blog the before and after's next week, so be sure to keep and eye out. I love how they turned out!

Chain Piecing

I'm really happy with my New Four-Patch block, and I especially love when red makes it's way into my Love Story Community Sampler! Red it's just so fitting for a love-themed collection quilt, don't you think?!
