Fat Quarters: Small Fabrics, More Than 50 Big Ideas + a GIVEAWAY!

Fat Quarters: Small Fabrics, More Than 50 Big Ideas + a GIVEAWAY!

Today I'm so excited to share this new book, Fat Quarters : Small Fabrics, More Than 50 Big Ideas, a collaborative book, full of wonderful projects, published by Lark Crafts! Inside you'll find a great variety of projects from things for babies & kids, to bags, quilts, pillows, wearables, and more! By many familiar names, including me! That's my cute, little patchwork Sewing Caddy on the cover!

Fat Quarters: Small Fabrics, More Than 50 Big Ideas + a Giveaway! When I designed this Sew Caddy project for the book I had created two, one using just three, small solid cuts of fabric and a second scrap-friendly version using an assortment of 2.5" charms!

2 -- Layout Patchwork

Final Photo -- 4 Threadcatcher - mini sewing caddy
Since they were returned to me at least a year ago, I've used them everyday! I have one either hanging from the foot of my extension table, or sitting close by, to be my catchall for snipped threads, lint, my little scissors, seam ripper, extra bobbins & Aurifil spools. I love it!

  11. I've been going through my fabric stash and I have so many smallish pieces that are right about FQ size and I don't want to trim them down to my standard 4" or 5" scrap size but they are too small to see if I just leave them in the big boxes... I need to learn to organize, or I can just get a book like this and use them, right?!
Actually, they are perfect for my boy to make the Cage Comforters for the Humane Society with but meh, that's only so fun for so long.

  41. I'm a follower! And I love the idea of this book. Recently I was caught in a strong 'no sew' phase and was very frustrated. I just couldn't start something. Finally I decided to make something small and made a pillowcase for my DGD. As soon as I got underway, I realized the sense of being frozen was around something big like a quilt. Once I started a smaller project, I felt my creative energy come to the surface. So this book would be great for those frozen periods that most all of us experience. Thank you for the chance to win.

Love the caddies. I have been thinking I need to make a couple -- one would hold the clamps I use when sandwiching a quilt.
