Will You Choose?

Besides finishing up the binding on my Friendship Diamond NouvElle quilt...

For NouvElle Quilt Binding

And, continuing my easy Herringbone QAYG with Arizona...

Arizona QAYG

I don't have too many unfinished projects at the moment, well compared to my usual amount. I do have lots of newly delivered, beautiful fabrics that are all waiting to become something. When they arrived I know I had a good idea for each that have all abandoned me these past ten days. Honestly I'm having a pretty tough time getting back on track, thinking clearly & staying focused, feeling inspired & motivated. It's not from lack of effort, I just feel very overwhelmed. I do want to sew and I know beginning something new will be good. Would you mind choosing the next beginning for me? From,

  1. Arcadia! I can't wait to see what you can come up with for that beautiful collection!

  2. Definitely my vote is for Arcadia! But you're right, you can't go wrong!

  3. Gleeful is definitely my favorite. If it's too overwhelming for you, I could take that one off your hands. :-) LOL.

In other breaking news, I just today gave into my lust and placed an order for some of that Arizona fabric.

  4. The Gleeful collection feels most summery to me, so I would pick that! Although the Arcadia is my favorite, I could see myself sewing with that in the fall and yes, I cant work on a summer quilt in winter or vice versa :)

  5. I am drawn to the cloud nine fabrics, but the Andover fabrics are pretty too!

  6. I've been thinking of you, and can't imagine what you must be going through. Do whatever feels good to you. Just take care of yourself, Maureen!

  7. I vote for Gleeful. The name is wrong for how you feel right now, but the colors are so fresh and seem different from the other projects you have in the works. Maybe the Gleeful fabrics would lighten your heart.

  8. I love the Arcadia collection from Cloud9 fabrics. Other fabrics are adorable too. But this is what I am tempted to see what you make next :).

I hope you are doing well.

  13. They are all gorgeous!!! I can see beautiful pinwheels made from the Gleeful fabrics! I am an Art Gallery Fabric fan, everything about them; the feel, the smell, the colors, I know I've got it bad, it's terrible :) Maureen, you work is wonderful which ever fabric you choose, have fun! Do you have a pattern or block in mind?

  14. I'm kinda likin' "field day".

    ReplyDelete
  15. Field day is gorgeous !!! How about making a rose star quilt with block size of 18 ? Im asking becasue I would love to see a tutorial. I have a vintage pattern and you are the best with directions.

  28. I really like the Arcadia in the first picture. My second vote goes to Andover...one in the middle with the deep purple in it. lol

    ReplyDelete
  29. I love them all, but I would choose Gleeful. The patterns seem less busy and that's what I would choose if I was feeling overwhelmed. I've been thinking of you and praying for you. XO

  30. My suggestion is to pull your favorite prints from each line and have a play. That way you don't have to choose just one! If that doesn't suit your purpose, I vote for Cloud 9.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Go for Arcadia ! Nice color, nice flowers... Go go go ! (Can't wait to see !). You can also try something you never tried before, so you can consider it as a new beginning and a new challenge for you ! Surprise us !

  42. They are all pretty, but I'd vote for Gleeful. It's such a summerly one. Is that a word?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Casting my vote for Gleeful! Like so many others above, the name invokes happiness and joy. Beautiful summery colors that I am drawn to. I also agree with Jess that Arcadia feels very "fall-like to me" with certainly a vintage vibe. In the end, follow your heart. Your creations always turn out lovely.

  50. Maureen I don't think there is a wrong choice amongst the contenders. They are all wonderful fabrics with fantastic prints and colors. For myself I would probably have to play the game of eeny-meeny-miney-mo. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I cant wait to see what you do with the Arcadia!

    ReplyDelete

  60. I'm voting for the Gleeful Collection. From the photo's the fabrics look soft and the colors are cheerful.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Gleeful - so cheerful yet calm at the same time...sounds like you need something soothing!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I love all of them, but the gleeful collection is bound to cheer you up!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I would choose the Cloud 9 Arcadia collection:)

    ReplyDelete
  64. All are beautiful but I love the clear colors of Gleeful Collection which might clear your head right now. Arcadia looks like late summer and Field Day reminds me of September.

  65. Gleeful!!! It's name says it all! The colors & prints back it up!! And it feels like fresh, happy, summer! All are fab & you can't go wrong, but Gleeful is my pick! Sending you happy wishes & a love & peace filled heart during this difficult time.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The colors in Field Day are a nice meeting of groovy and comforting and feel-good all at the same time. That's my vote. Take your time! If you push yourself to begin before you're ready, you may not be happy with the process or the finished product. God bless you!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I feel like Gleeful is just a wonderful message to you to begin something new, summery and a bit playful too. They are all gorgeous you can't go wrong, but at 70, I try to look for messages in life from God and I think Gleeful is one. During this difficult time try to be as kind to yourself as you would be to a dear friend going through the same thing. Being our own best friend is not always easy but we deserve it. God Bless. Shelley

  68. Oh My, that Gleeful Collection spells S-u-m-m-e-r to me ! I would go with that first for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Go with something bright and cheerful--full of life. Do something that doesn't take a great deal of concentration--log cabin, simple squares, snowball, 9 patch. And make it for yourself--a beautiful new bed quilt or a lap quilt.

  70. I have to agree with Jeannie D. Sew Caroline's Limited Addition Gleeful collection for Art Gallery Fabrics. It is truly a beautiful summery group of fabrics. It made me smile just looking at the colors and peeking at the patterns. Love it!

  74. I think what you are feeling is very normal given your recent loss. Give yourself time be gentle. I love Allison Glass Field Day with its deep saturated colors and would live to see what you make with it!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I like the gleeful collection best! Happy cutting!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I can see why you are having trouble choosing! They are beautiful. But I would choose the Cloud 9 Arcadia fabrics! So big and bold!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I say Gleeful. Reason is, if you are feeling overwhelmed and a bit off your stride, these bright, primarily simple designs will be easy work for a pro like you. The other fabrics are beautiful, but I feel they would take more of a creative effort to pull off.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I really like Field Day. I can see a lot of possibilities with these fabrics. However, all the fabrics are wonderful and they all have the potential to lift your spirits and let your creative side bloom again.
