This weekend I finished up two quilts, my Rock 'n Romance Diamond Strings & my Herringbone QAYG! Today, I'm taking them both with me on a little road trip, along with some hope that the sun might shine for pretty picture taking. Wish me luck!!
Throughout the making of my Herringbone quilt I was careful to take lots of pictures for my tutorial, and Penelope was right there with me. Looking through my pictures this morning, they were too cute not to share just a few of them!
She's a little shaggy & ready for a new haircut, but isn't she sweet?! She seems to love this quilt and Lily definitely loves the cozy, Folksy flannel I used for it's backing. Hopefully they'll learn to share!
Well, in addition to my etsy makings and all the quilty goodness I've been sharing here recently, I've also been working on more publication work. This was another goal of mine for this Fall and it's all very exciting for me! So when my friends at Future asked if I wanted to share a special subscription offer to their new magazine Love, Patchwork & Quilting with all of you, I jumped!!
I have a special UK subscription offer of 3 issues for £5 to share, along with special US launch rates for my domestic friends right HERE! All subscription orders placed by the 27th of September will start with issue 1 of the magazine, where you'll get to see one of my favorite projects in print!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see a new finished quilt!!
Happy Monday, friends! ♥ Maureen

She's adorable! Thanks for sharing her with us. Oh, the quilts are so beautiful too ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I'll be sharing this quilt and a tutorial for how to make it throughout this week, as well! Today Penny deserved the spotlight! ;)
DeleteOh, cuteness! She's the blonde version of a little grey poodle mix I had awhile ago. He was such a character, as it looks like she is, too, and very photogenic ;)
ReplyDeleteShe is very photogenic when she stops long enough for me to get a shot! She's a pretty busy girl at just a little more than 6 months old!
DeleteSuch a cutie! And congrats on the magazine feature!!!
ReplyDeleteShe's very sweet indeed! And the quilt is lovely too. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to get a quilting magazine but couldn't decide which one! This one will be perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteYou do beautiful work! (And your puppy is pretty cute too!)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!
Deletecan't tell which one is cuter ? Lol... your puppy stolen the attention , she is so adorable. And off course your quilt is awesome.. but sorry today, my eyes goes to her... :))))))
ReplyDeleteMy eyes did too, as I was decided which pics to share this morning. She's such a sweet girl and I especially love it when she stops long enough for me to get a good photo! She's almost always on the move unless she's sleeping in her crate! :)
DeleteOh dear! When I saw this on FB I was expecting a "she passed away . . ." post. SO glad I didn't see that!
ReplyDeletePenny has grown so much. She is adorable. Have fun on the photo shoot! And congrats on the publication.

Maureen, will you be sharing the QAYG Herringbone tutorial soon? I thought you said you were prepping for one correct? Just want to be sure I didn't misunderstand ;)
ReplyDeleteYes! I plan to share the finished quilt first sometime this week, and then the tutorial a different day after that. It's a lot of computer work to put together, but I have it all started and I'm really excited about it! :)
DeleteToo, too cute! Looking forward to the QAYG tutorial :)
ReplyDeleteYour pup looks so sweet ~ love the first picture of her.
ReplyDeleteWishing for sunshine so you can take pretty photos!
What cute pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gayle!! She's a cutie!
DeleteCongratulations on your feature :) That's such a big accomplishment. And of course, Penny is beyond adorable.
ReplyDeleteyour quilt is pretty and bright. Your little helper is such a cutie. Great quilting buddy. I have a 23 lb. cat that helps me all the time.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me the cost for magazine in US dollars, Thank you. Sharon Lozano
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon! My currency converter shows that £34.49 = $55.31 US :)
DeleteI was a little confused because it says 6 continuous monthly payments at $34.49, or is it one lump payment of $34.49 for the entire year?
DeleteIt works out to about $55.38 for a 6 month subscription.
DeleteAnd, I was just given this new link -- US subscribers can now try the magazine -3 issues for just $10 followed by quarterly payments of $25.99, here ---- www.imsnews.com/quilting-2013
Looks like a great magazine, but Google currency converter says it is $56.15?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! This new magazine is by the creators of Mollie Makes (my favorite) and a gift comes with every issue! I'm so excited to be a part of it!! ;)
DeleteOMG she is so cute! I feel like squeeling!
ReplyDeleteYour puppy has gotten bigger but just as cute!

ReplyDeleteLove that wee face in the first pic! I hope you got your photos today :o)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to my first issue arriving
Penelope is super cute, I do hope that the sun was shining.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute and perfect poser, lol.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Hi Penelope is super cute. I can see why you took a bunch of photos.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the magazine subscription website but am very confused about the cost of the magazine. I can't tell if it is going to be $55.33 or $55.33 x 6. It says - 6 Monthly Continuous Credit Card @ £34.49. If that later that would be $332.04. Way beyond my budget.
I just had another thought on that 6 Monthly Continuous Credit Card @ £34.49 - does that mean it is for a six month subscription? Which would mean that a year would be $110.66? The description says it is a monthly magazine.
ReplyDeleteHi! Feel free to share your questions for the folks behind the magazine on their facebook page here -- https://www.facebook.com/lovepatchworkandquilting
DeleteAnd, I'll shoot my editor an email just to be clear on US subscription pricing, and I'll report back here once I find out exactly what the charge will be! :)
The response I received this morning is this --
DeleteIt works out to about $55.38 for a 6 month subscription.
And, I was sent this new special -- US subscribers can now try the magazine -3 issues for just $10 followed by quarterly payments of $25.99, here ---- www.imsnews.com/quilting-2013
I just have to ask what kind of dog Penelope is. She is precious. I'm not sure I'm ready for another dog yet but would like to know what kind Penelope is just for future reference. She is precious and looks a little like my Callie did. Thanks! Your quilt looks gorgeous!!! So many beaufitul colors. I love to read your blog. Thanks!

Penelope is a real cutie! I had a dog that looked just like her when I was a teenager. My dog was named Honey and was a real sweetheart. Penelope looks like she is too! She sure looks like she has fallen in love with your lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove the pup. She is adorable. Congrats on your magazine feature. I love some of the UK magazines, but they are so expensive to get in the US...
ReplyDeleteYes, but I love Mollie Makes and trust that this particular magazine is going to be really, really good. I still can't believe that I'll be in it!
DeleteYour Penelope reminds me of my Cassie, a Lhasa Apso. I have a couple of pics when she was a puppy on my Aug 12th post. Anyways Penelope looks like a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteShe is just so stinkin cute!
