Our Living Room : :

I have had such a busy couple of sewing days!! I had originally planned to share some of my recent makings this morning, but decided to stick with the house tour I started this week and share some of the living room pics I took, pre-Christmas decorating, before the day ends! The enthusiasm our family, friends, and you all have for our little family right now is so amazing and moving! To have so many to share our excitement with, makes this home all the more special! THANK YOU.

This Living Room is the room I am most excited to make things for right now. For the first time ever I am trying to stay within a color scheme (I LOVE color, ALL of them -- you know that!), but I am trying to keep things to a minimum. I also want to keep it kind of nature inspired, with the calm earthy vibe that Kevin loves. Already, this is his most favorite room and has so many of our favorite things in it.

With pillows, a throw quilt, an ottoman on my things to make list, lots of artwork and a cozy wool rug on my wishlist, and several other ideas floating around like a photo wall and cool light fixture ideas -- I'm glad I have these couple of months with holiday decorations everywhere to plan and hopefully make!

So, this is our before and I can't wait to share all the after photos as it all comes together!! And, thanks again for being so sweet and encouraging!! This is so much fun! Maureen

  3. LOVE the ottoman! That is the one thing that I need in my sewing room. I asked DH for a footstool for Christmas, but I don't think I will get one LOL. He just doesn't understand that I need to be comfortable to do my quilting and handwork in that room. The one you have there.. BEAUTY!!

    1. I live in a very small town, right in town. I don't mention this EVER, but I don't drive! I am the worst driver ever, so living in town is pretty necessary for me! :) Luckily, here in Potter County, Pa living in town still means you are surrounded by the most beautiful woods and natural world. We love it here!

  9. So pretty! This home has good bones and all your touches are making it shine. I like the natural color palette and of course your bursts of color- I am sure your husband must like them too because the color is so you! We got our first home almost 2 years ago so I understand your giddiness to decorate and situate. I still feel so blessed when I walk through our home- our beautiful nest <3

  15. So beautiful! I love the neutral feel with just tiny splashes of color. Those hardwood floors are incredible. Living in Phoenix, there really aren't that many homes that aren't stucco and tan, aka boring. My mom lives in an historic district in a 1920's Spanish colonial style home and it has so much more character than the tract homes that are everywhere! Your home has that same kind of character and you've added such lovely touches...so much fun to take a peek. :)
