I have had such a busy couple of sewing days!! I had originally planned to share some of my recent makings this morning, but decided to stick with the house tour I started this week and share some of the living room pics I took, pre-Christmas decorating, before the day ends! The enthusiasm our family, friends, and you all have for our little family right now is so amazing and moving! To have so many to share our excitement with, makes this home all the more special! THANK YOU.
This Living Room is the room I am most excited to make things for right now. For the first time ever I am trying to stay within a color scheme (I LOVE color, ALL of them -- you know that!), but I am trying to keep things to a minimum. I also want to keep it kind of nature inspired, with the calm earthy vibe that Kevin loves. Already, this is his most favorite room and has so many of our favorite things in it.
With pillows, a throw quilt, an ottoman on my things to make list, lots of artwork and a cozy wool rug on my wishlist, and several other ideas floating around like a photo wall and cool light fixture ideas -- I'm glad I have these couple of months with holiday decorations everywhere to plan and hopefully make!
So, this is our before and I can't wait to share all the after photos as it all comes together!! And, thanks again for being so sweet and encouraging!! This is so much fun! ♥, Maureen

The base pallet is going to make the decorating extraordinary! you will have a blast!
ReplyDeleteMaureen, it already looks great! I can't wait to see the after. How fun!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the ottoman! That is the one thing that I need in my sewing room. I asked DH for a footstool for Christmas, but I don't think I will get one LOL. He just doesn't understand that I need to be comfortable to do my quilting and handwork in that room. The one you have there.. BEAUTY!!
ReplyDeleteI love it too! It was actually a gift made by my amazing friend!! I treasure it and if you follow my rug link, you'll see that there is an Amy Butler designed rug that will match it perfectly!! ;)
DeleteBeautiful home! It's so inviting...just want to come sit on that sofa!
ReplyDeleteWow, you're really getting there already! got your stamp on the place, so wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect already to me!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I've been wondering if you're in town or in the country?
ReplyDeleteI live in a very small town, right in town. I don't mention this EVER, but I don't drive! I am the worst driver ever, so living in town is pretty necessary for me! :) Luckily, here in Potter County, Pa living in town still means you are surrounded by the most beautiful woods and natural world. We love it here!
DeleteIt already looks great! I'll be anxiously waiting to see what else you do in your living room.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! This home has good bones and all your touches are making it shine. I like the natural color palette and of course your bursts of color- I am sure your husband must like them too because the color is so you! We got our first home almost 2 years ago so I understand your giddiness to decorate and situate. I still feel so blessed when I walk through our home- our beautiful nest <3
ReplyDeleteLove the lampshade...inspired to do one for my studio. Also, is that Amy Butler fabric on the poof? Love it! I enjoy reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteThat lampshade is beautiful! Isn't it an amazing feeling to have a nest to make all your own? I cant wait to see what you do with it:)
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home and love the wood floors and your decorations.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I would love to clean out the house and start over, lol.

It's such a warm and welcoming room already. I like your idea of a photo wall. I was thinking of doing one up my stairway. Can't wait to see what else you do!!
ReplyDeleteSo very homely, and inviting!! I love your style of decorating!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the neutral feel with just tiny splashes of color. Those hardwood floors are incredible. Living in Phoenix, there really aren't that many homes that aren't stucco and tan, aka boring. My mom lives in an historic district in a 1920's Spanish colonial style home and it has so much more character than the tract homes that are everywhere! Your home has that same kind of character and you've added such lovely touches...so much fun to take a peek. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that giant pillow! I love how much light the rooms you've shown so far, it must make sewing so much easier :)
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! Especially love the pouf. It already looks like a room I could cozy up in with a good book. Keep the room tours coming! :)
ReplyDeleteWow I cannot believe you only just moved, it all looks really homely.

Love it! =D
ReplyDeleteLove the earthy tones and all your furniture, especially the chair with the birds on it and foot cushion ~ amazed that you've got everything together already ~ it took me weeks to get mine how I like it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can see why it would be his fave room. So comfy too.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, and love that mirror!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love the lampshade and the pillow, especially!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful combination of colours and fabrics! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tatyana
The whole room is absolutely lovely, but I especially love those vases on the mantel with the painted dots! Where did you get those?
ReplyDeleteEverything is looking so pretty!
