Train Pillow Set : :

What a busy and beautiful weekend! I hope a good one was had by all!! Over the weekend I finished up a recent, pretty adorable custom order that came through my etsy that I thought I'd share today!

Sometimes the most simplest of projects are the ones that make me the most happy! And, look... something for little boys! Finally!!

Train Pillow Set

My customer sent me photos of a pretty simple, applique quilt with a transportation theme to base these train pillows after. She plans to have them sitting in front of the headboard instead of shams. I think it's both a clever and extremely cute idea!

This was definitely a fun project for me!

My creation

I'm loving them all stacked up!

Train Pillows

The backs are finished in a few of the Ruby Dot prints I just picked up from Skye Reve Fabrics. These teeny tiny dots are another great neutral. I love that Sundae print, too!

I hope there will be a happy boy on the receiving end of this weekend's pillow making!! I'm linking them up with Today's Creative Blog!

As for today, I'm hoping to make a dent in my new stack of felt!!

New Felt!!

How about you, do you have any sewing plans for today?

  3. What a cute project. Great selections for the fabric. You are so talented. I'm new to your site.

Due to downsizing, I recently lost my desk job of 20+ years. It's all good though because now I get to do what I was meant to do. I am a creative person and I've got my creative juices flowing and you are such an inspiration to me!! You are so lucky to be able to express yourself through your creations. I aspire to be like that. Thanks for what you do :-)

  12. What a brilliant-cute idea! Absolutely adorable.

No sewing until the weekend, but then I'll finally finish the dreaded curtains for my sister. All four are hanging in my living room and bedroom atm, waiting to be hemmed. Can't believe I managed to sew three this past weekend. :)

  13. Cute project. I am going to finish my Christmas Quilt wall hanging. Then after school I will continue to teach my DD (9) how to make a pillow. We have started sewing lessons with mom. She is a little daunted by my machine but she has a eye for design.
