Buttercup Sunburst Quilt Block : :

Well, I hope a wonderful 4th was had bad all! We had a great time, pictures tomorrow!

I did find a little sewing time over this busy weekend and now...
Buttercup Block -- Sunburst
My second Bottled Rainbow quilt block is complete! For this Buttercup block I took the time to arrange a layout that I was happy with and taking that extra step made all the difference! Last time I truly just cut, glued, sewed for each piece. And, I'm not sure why? I had spent a bit of time before I actually began my Ruby block cutting all my pieces for the entire quilt, so I can only explain by saying that I just wanted to get to it already.

I am really happy with this one! My Ruby block had me unsure that this idea of Mandala inspired designs would work with the rectangle shape of the block? I think as an entire quilt the design will be much more pleasing to the eye, than each individual block. So, I am pressing forward with hopes that I am right. My children really love both of the blocks. Of course suggesting they become 16 different colored pillows for them to toss around all day. Good idea but NO, this will be a quilt!

Two down, 14 to go! Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a wall of finished quilt blocks hanging by these vintage hangers? I have been dreaming of this ever since I pinned this neat photo display via Cynthia. Thanks C!!!
Waiting ~ Bottled Rainbow QAYG Blocks -- Ruby and Buttercup
I was planning to tackle one block a week, but I think I can move a bit faster with some late night sewing sessions. Once again, this Summer isn't leaving much room for mama-sewing-time. I feel bad complaining about beautiful weather, but honestly a stormy day or two would be nice! How about you, how do you find alone sewing/crafting time?
