Sew Awesome : : Jacob's First Hoop

I don't really know how to describe in words how exciting and beautiful it was to watch Jacob work on his first embroidery hoop. Kaiden made one, too, but he's not quite finished yet and I thought they deserved their own individual posts on this project. It was just that amazing! I took a photo about every ten seconds, as I watched in awe as he just went for it. I was prepared to have my patience tested, assuming that there would be lots of re-threading the needle and untangling of the thread, but he just got it. He sat, just sewing and chattering away, for almost two hours, until all that was left was to sew in his initials and add the backing, which of course had to wait to another day no matter how much I tried to persuade him to keep going. I was that excited!

It was difficult to choose what pictures to share, but I think these tell the story...

...and the finished piece on our wall...
...isn't it perfect!?!
