Wanderer ♡ : :

Wanderer LOVE!

Last week this gorgeous bundle of Wanderer arrived at my door, generously sent by it's sweet maker, April Rhodes! At Fall Quilt Market this collection was one of my very favorites. It's so full of clever, artistic designs in a color palette of dusky blues, rusty oranges, and sandy brown that I completely adore. It's these dreamy Wanderer colors that inspired my latest design, a new flying geese quilt with a unique layout idea that I'm super excited to try and share. I wasted no time and got right to cutting!

100 Flying Geese

This beautiful shade of Spruce blue is one of my new favorites and made such a perfect starting point for this new Wanderer Quilt. Don't you love it?

I plan to continue working my way to finishing this one in time for my stop on the Wanderer Blog Hop happening later this month when this must have collection will be hitting our favorite stores. Stay tuned!

    1. They are 3 1/4" x 6". I'd share my starting measurements, but I miscalculated and had a little bit of overlap on several of my geese units that I had to trim away. I haven't taken the time to decrease the size of my smaller square cuts to see what size would have worked better. I plan to do that before I share the finished quilt so I can offer those measurements to those who might want to make this quilt, too! :)

    1. I always use the "make 4 at a time" method. Making them this way creates four geese units at a time with almost no waste/trimming. You can see a how-to in my free Soaring High Quilt pattern for Cloud9 Fabrics here -- http://cloud9fabrics.com/blog/Projects/SoaringHighQuilt.pdf

      Thanks!
