A New QAYG : :

I truly feel like I'm moving in slow motion today! I'm going to work a little on my new Carnaby Street quilt-as-you-go scheme before the kiddos get home. If the bright colors in this fun project don't waken me up, then nothing will!

Carnaby QAYG

I hope to have something fun and finished to share tomorrow! And, I really hope your week is off to a much more energetic start than mine!!  Maureen

This is looking gorgeous, Maureen. I know what you mean about slow motion. Ever since last night, I've been feeling a bit like I'm trying to move under water. After lunch I'm going to try to finish my Tsuru purse, and hopefully that will perk me up a bit!

Wow! Is the center sewn or appliqued?

I was going to reference Office Space and call it "a bad case of the Mondays" but unfortunately I was like this all day yesterday, too! Hopefully I'm not coming down with something again already, blah!!

I can't wait to see your purse!! :)

Love the center section of that.

Oh, that stinks. I know the feeling, I just got the kids down for a nap and now all I want to do is go take one myself. Must push through :)

It's appliqued! :) I did a Dresden style piecing for the circle, patchwork center and sewed that onto the solid teal, and I'm quilting-as-I-go!! :)

Love the Carnaby St. line! Still trying to figure out how you get so much done. I have a question for you. Do you like the mat you use, the one in the photo today? I recently bought this same mat and I don't like how the measurements are on the "inside" of the lines, meaning when you place the fabric down to be cut you cover up the measurements! Am I missing something here?? Do you know what I mean? My last mat was not set up this way. I would return it but I bought it from Joanns and the nearest store is 6 hours away from me. So I am back to my smaller, worn out mat! Thank you.

Gosh, and I was feeling like such a slacker since I barely sewed anything beyond my Etsy orders all weekend! So, thank you!! I'm not a great sleeper actually. And, I also don't watch tv much anymore, and when I do it's at night and I'm usually sewing then, too! :)

And, YES I know what you mean about the mat!!! It does drive me crazy!! It took a while for me to get use to it and thankfully I do have a second one that is just as large that has numbers in the preferred place!

That looks great, I am still trying to get the quilt as you go thing going. I trying to see if I can be off of work tomorrow, not feeling it much.

That is really beautiful and cheerful! Hope you feel better tomorrow. I am in North Georgia and just so tired of the cloudy days and gloomy weather. But SPRING:) is right around the corner!

Maureen Cracknell Handmade said...

Thanks, Ginger! I hope to share how it progresses with some details, since this is going to come together a little differently than my tutorial. I just have to remember to stop and take pics as I go, too!!

Maureen Cracknell Handmade said...

Thank you, Jessica!! I think it's impossible not to make something gorgeous with these fabrics!!

Maureen Cracknell Handmade said...

Thank you, Roberta! I used a Dresden template to cut the pieces for the center and pieced them to form the circle. I'll be sure to share more pics this week and as it all comes together!

of course like your website but you need to test the spelling
on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling
problems and I find it very troublesome to tell the truth then again I'll certainly come back again.
