Busy Girl : :

This is a bit of a mish-mashy post, I'm feeling kinda silly at the moment after so much assembly line sewing! Today, I managed to get almost all caught up, staying focused and busy all day! And wow, was it a lot of work!!

That was a lot of work!

I finished up just as the sun began to set, so I didn't get great photos of my efforts, and I'm not going to make it back to the Post Office today -- definitely not, I think it's below 5 degrees out there?!

I did snap two quick photos of my personal stand-out favorites from the group! This Penelope crown, inspired by this Penelope Bedding, a super cute customer request.

A Favorite -- The Penelope Crown

And, this sweet, girly Piper crown. Yup, I like it!

A favorite -- The Piper Crown

I've been enjoying this new adventure of selling felt so far, as well! I might already need to restock the most popular colors -- that's a very good thing!

Felt orders!

It was most definitely this happy mail that arrived from beautiful Michelle that got me through that mid-day hump! A Cloud9 Fabric bundle of Tsuru, by my friend, fellow gang member, and talent extraordinaire, Rachida Coleman-Hale. You'll be seeing more of these soon -- they are so, SO lovely!!

Cloud9 Fabrics -- Tsuru

I was recently asked if I wanted to have some sewing fun with Glimma, a pretty and very calming collection by designer Lotta Jansdotter, by the folks at Windham. Of course I do!! I have a floor pillow planned for our living room for one charm pack, mixed with some solids. And, for the second... Well, I thought I would offer it up to one of you -- Just for those of you who are so sweet to stop by on a Tuesday evening -- Thank you!!

Glimma LOVE!

You can enter by commenting and if you want -- by sharing what your sewing plans are for this week? I'd love to read about them!!  Maureen

p.s...winner will be announced within this post on Thursday! The Random Number Generator picked : :

I do love those crowns you make! Lotta is one of my favorite designers. I finally cut up my stash of Bella and Echo for a quilt. I'm just waiting to get my hands on some Glimma before I start sewing!

  2. You have been busy! Wow! I've been sewing up an unexpected storm here lately and am hoping to get a quilt top and a couple of backs done before the creative weather shifts. :-)

Sorry to hear that your weather is cold. We've just 'warmed up' to -20C after a sharp drop this week. I don't mind the cold too much myself but if you're not used to it, it's a system-shock, for sure.

  21. I'm in the middle of a quilt for a quilt along, a quilt for my little boy that is challenging me as it's been one that I'm making up as I go along, and finishing christmas presents that were given in an unfinished state: a skirt and headband, pair of pants and pajama pants. I really need to finish something instead of starting and getting stuck in the middle. I do like cutting things out though! :)

  22. That's a lot of crowns!! I bet it feels good to get them checked off the to-do list.

  39. My new sewing project is to finish up a duvet cover I started about 2 years ago. I seamed the edges of the fabric and that's as far as I got. I had the original cover that was literally shredding apart when I made my first duvet cover. But then I tossed it. Now I need to make a second cover and I can't remember how I made the first one. I've looked at it over and over and just can't figure out what I did. But I need to get this done so I'm just going to wing it and hope for the best.

  56. hmmm...I might have commented...or not. Something went a little wacky in the browser there, so I apologize if this is a duplicate. :)

Your crowns are adorable as always. I am continually impressed by your creativity. I like to mix things up from instructions, but I'm not so good at coming up with my own creations. Need to work on that. :)

Currently, I'm working on finishing up Week 1's projects from Rachel's (Stitched in Color) Handstitched class, which has been fun so far and I think I'm going to learn a lot.

  79. I spent the day setting up a series of half-square triangle blocks to be sewn six at a time. My plan is (and has been, for an embarrassingly long time), to sew six of those squares each time I sit down and sew something for someone else, and eventually we shall have a king-sized quilt on our own bed. I got behind when my pre-arranged hst groups ran out. For want of ironing and rotary cutting, I've ignored this for way too long. Now I'm back in the groove and I feel magnificent!
