Today I am sewing up a storm and loving all the color! Which is why I am a little late to putting something up here today. I decided to spend the morning sewing while I was alone! And, I am feeling a little better too, so thank you for all the well wishes!
Using yesterday's rainbow + patchwork inspiration, I had a little fun putting this new patchwork, scrappy owlie together. I'm not sure if I should make yet another pillow out of this 12x12 applique piece or maybe a little Fall tote bag for the kids to lug around. What do you think?
I plan to finish whatever becomes of my owl applique with my new Community Critters. Aren't they cute?
We all agree -- this owl is our favorite. So sweet!
I spent most of my free sewing time this morning sewing with Daisy Janie's new Tilly collection. I am making a pillow for Jan's Quilt Market Booth and I am so, so, so excited!!! Aren't these gorgeous? This group premiers at Houston Quilt Market at the end of this month and yardage goes on sale in November!
And, these new crown orders are now finished and just went out the door!
I'm dreaming up a plan for these, as well! This bundle of Little Apples is a huge hit with the kids. We all love them! And, have you seen Aneela's peak at her newest line? They just get better and better!
Now it's your turn! What are you up to today???
p.s. Wishing safe travels to everyone heading off to the Sewing Summit! I can't wait to see what I'll be missing. Enjoy!!!
I spy a beautiful crown that's on its way to Canada! Can't wait to see it! :)
ReplyDeletep.s. I vote pillow for scrappy owlie!
So cute! I vote for tote because I can totally envision some cute little kids running around with it. :)
ReplyDeleteI think your little owl would be great on either a pillow or a tote, but it would be very fun to take him around town!
ReplyDeleteI just read on another blog that there's only 80 days until Christmas so I think I'll start making my naughty list!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an owl tote bag! I love all your pillows, but a tote would be too cute!

such cute crowns! are they to wear or wall art? i'm having a princess party soon here, want to make princess hats for the girls and crowns for the boys, but I was thinking cardstock, if I can use fabric, then it's even better, I HAVE that!
ReplyDeleteI. Love. Owls. And I vote for a tote bag.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics! I love your little owl and he'd look great on either a pillow or a tote.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing selection of fabrics you have! Love all the owly stuff - and those crowns are just beautiful!

That owl is a real cutie! I vote a tote so everyone can see him! I've been making sachets today.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours; very cute.
ReplyDeleteLove the owl piece, very fun and the fabric is wonderful. I started a christmas piece today, think I am fighting off something too, so just taking it easy and stitching. Time for a nice hot bath.

ReplyDeleteLove that owl!! Wonderful, fun and cheery fabrics!
ReplyDeleteOh, all that colour is just so divine!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Yes, I don't think a group of fabrics can be more cheery! It definitely made for some fun sewing! I finished my large Dresden in Tilly and a new Patchwork Owl tote for the family.

OH the owl would make an adorable bag! He deserves to be toted about...what a hoot! ha ha. Do you mind if my girls try to make a little owl like him? They are wanting to do some little things and have perfected a blanket stitch...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Yes, yes, make the tote! All the better for others to see what beautiful things you make if your little ones are taking it on the go.
ReplyDeleteI vote a scrappy owl tote! Too cute and you wouldn't have to be a kid to tote it around :D
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best fabrics - I always leave your blog with some serious fabric envy!
That owl!!! I am amazed by every applique you make. Gorgeous. I think it would make an adorable tote bag, but I wouldn't be able to give it up to the kids :)
ReplyDeleteI am in love with that owl! Gorgeous! I vote for the tote as well with the owl fabric on the back. Matches perfectly! That way the owl can be shown off out and about and not just kept inside.
ReplyDeleteYour owl is so charming and I love that you gave it a heart:)I am currently working on Halloween placemats that are quilted pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is just lush, love it!!
ReplyDeleteToday I'm blogging! I am coming down from a couple of weeks of obsessive party planning! And am about to get ready for a week of kids clothes makin'. So tonight, I'm blogging!!! Love the owl pillow!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, those owls are adorable!!!
