When I first began quilting I didn't think I would ever make quilts unless I pulled my own custom fabric bundle for the job, but now I've totally changed my opinion on that. I'm really loving these ideas that come from admiring and learning about another designers work, and then doing my best to turn their work into something beautiful myself. It's challenging & fun!!Maureen Cracknell Handmadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03533566766276588176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-22908203631753952052013-09-18T08:24:38.848-04:002013-09-18T08:24:38.848-04:00Congrats on the etsy success! I'm sure you can imagine how high the scrap drawers have been piling up around here with all the making. Maybe I should consider a destash? I definitely have some pretty scraps and lots of them!! :)<br />Maureen Cracknell Handmadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03533566766276588176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-12112075678084135292013-09-18T08:16:44.480-04:002013-09-18T08:16:44.480-04:00That's wonderful, Susan! She even has an area for me to sew and quilt. I will be spending some of my winter there as the snow flies here and it doesn't where she lives. I am excited for the cold weather for the first time in many years. I love her so much for doing that for me. Well, now I am home so back to the sewing and quilting I have been working on. Your quilts are so beautiful!! Happy sewing to you!! Of course I had to chose a piano border and it is taking me forever to do. Hope to get it put on the quilt after work before the meeting tonight. My little Etsy/Facebook business is really growing and the holidays are such a fun time to sew. And you are welcome to come and clean MY kitchen.. I'm lucky to clean it just once a day lately! Your quilts are beautiful, by the way... I save all of my scraps because someday I will have time to scrap quilt the days away!!Gwillekkershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10472878060584997919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-64619186634423356012013-09-17T12:53:31.031-04:002013-09-17T12:53:31.031-04:00Yes, sometimes you need to take a breather and cat...Yes, sometimes you need to take a breather and catch up on other stuff! I spent a lot of Sunday cleaning like a maniac. Back to sewing tonight, though. I'm writing another tutorial (like this, but for the kitchen towels briefly mentioned in the post, http://kaesey.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/sewing-bender-and-a-mug-rug-tutorial/) and trying to make some fabric decisions for a stroller quilt for a friend's baby. I love looking at your quilts - they're inspiration for when I go back to my fabric stash!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-28118181114042745302013-09-17T11:41:55.522-04:002013-09-17T11:41:55.522-04:00Love all your projects ~ you are so inspiring.

And, putting together a Pickle Dish quilt. Still paper piecing the arcs, but it sure is turning out lovely! I need to put the finishing touches on a quilt for a grandson and I'm crocheting some little pumpkins but mostly I'm outside powerwashing the walks and painting since summer is too hot here to do that so I must grab this wonderful fall weather when I can. I too take breaks like you did....it's all about balance I've discovered. The dinner sounded yummy! Take care!Sam I Am......https://www.blogger.com/profile/17358633233189452832noreply@blogger.com
