I imagine it as part of a center column (so repeated in above and below as needed), and a "calmer" pattern on each side of it, so it becomes the central focus. Does that make sense? In other words, repeated down the center only. : )Am Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03197287368680504397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-20854065282917089202014-07-11T04:25:04.692-04:002014-07-11T04:25:04.692-04:00I vote for medallion as it truly deserves to be th...I vote for medallion as it truly deserves to be the center of attention.
but draw it out and see what you think. sometimes you just have to try one option and go with it.
if not, do both. take one and make a medallion. take the rest and repeat. do you have enough fabric to play like that?sewyouquilt2https://www.blogger.com/profile/07422106403699477143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-73844939567506240852014-07-11T04:19:57.496-04:002014-07-11T04:19:57.496-04:00This block is just stunning. Sketching it both ways could be really helpful. I agree with a previous comment that this would make a great quilt for a guy. My vote would be a repeating pattern of some sort (love some of the ones mentioned above). I like the idea of it as a medallion center, but I think it would be so much more breathtaking and eyecatching as a whole pattern. It would make a GREAT pattern for a guy when used with the right fabric. I hope that comes off the way I want it to and not offensive...sometimes it's hard to find patterns that aren't too boring or tradadional or girly to make for a grown man. This would be so different and perfect for some of the guys in my life. :) Love it! HOWEVER, I think a large scale herringbone pattern would work perfectly with this design at the center since the eyes are immediately drawn to an outward movement. I'm not sure how you'd work that out exactly, but you're far more gifted and experienced than I am, so I'm sure you could figure it out. :) Cheers!CurlyGirlMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02636461471614663124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133349480262766438.post-82337271181698607662014-07-10T16:32:04.133-04:002014-07-10T16:32:04.133-04:00Woo...
