Quilt Fabric Plans : :

Hooray! I finished my qayg quilt last night and I can't wait to photograph it! However, the weather this morning is very much like the morning I froze attempting to take some pics of my Glimma Quilt, lesson learned -- I'm waiting!  And instead, I spent the last hour making some new quilt plans! Want to see what I have in mind?

    1. I do! For the Tsuru I have been wanting to make something with framed centered and off-centered squares. I'm always inspired by one of my favorite quilters Faith @Fresh Lemon Quilts, she does this often and I always love it!

  2. I love the colors and patterns of the first set Micromod!

  3. MicroMod & Essex Linen. I would jump on that in a hurry and make the fabric in the top left corner of the picture the MAIN focus. I love that piece of fabric... Send me your scraps!

    1. I'm really wanting to so something improv, since these are so modern to me? What do you think?? I''m open to suggestions! :)

I have some more of this minen in my cart at Pink Castle, while she is having her sale. I'm trying to pinch my pennies, though... it's so hard to resist!!

  5. Oooh, fantastic piles, Maureen! I don't believe I've seen anyone do anything with Tsuru yet, so that gets my vote.

  6. I would use the Tsurut & Pure Elements, the colors are calling my name to be something. All of the fabrics are fantastic, I think I would have the same problem.

  7. OOH, tough to choose. I love the Micro Mod and the Tsuru! We haven't seen a lot of navy blue going around, be different and use the Tsuru!

  8. Oooh...tough one indeed! But the colors of Tsuru really jumped at me - I think that at this time of the year when everything is mostly white and pale, I start craving colors...ha, ha!
Also, I just played a bit more with my Squares and Shadows design in EQ and these would be so perfect for that! If you need a pattern to get you going just let me know - it is all written up (since I did teach it in my LQS) and blocks can be 3 different sizes.
Hmm..now I have to go look for that Tsuru fabric...;)

  9. The upper left MicroMod print fascinates me (kind of like a lava lamp, I just want to keep staring at it.....). That bundle really wants to be first! :)

    1. Me too on the linen with the MicroMod!! I bought a couple yards of it and an extra 1/2 yard of the Tick Tock print on the left. I'm thinking something very modern and improv for that quilt, but yes Tsuru is first!!

  26. Smart lady! I wouldn't go out in the cold either! Sorry. I'm no help here. I would love ALL those lines! Haven't seen much done with Tsuru yet, so that could be a very inspirational quilt, but I LOVE Simpatico. So light and airy and lovely.

    1. I felt the same way about MicroMod! When Beth from Stash Fabrics suggested it for our giveaway the other week, when I saw the photo of it, I went right ahead and used her coupon code to buy myself this bundle with the Essex. It's such a special and unique collection. I think my husband and boys will love a MicroMod quilt, too, which is always nice! :)

    1. Yes, definitely!! It was designed by a guy, Rob Bancroft, and I think it works perfect for a man-quilt! It does has purple, but paired with the black, grey, orange, and teal it's very manly!! :)

    1. Thanks!! This morning I did have a solid quilt pattern idea for both the MicroMod and Tsuru collection, not Simpatico, so I decided to start with Tsuru. I'm so glad I did, I'll be sharing it soon!! :)

  39. My vote is for Micromod. It feels wintery to me so now's the time to do it (am I the only one who does this?). The Tsuru is also nice, but you know I love linen, so once you threw that in the mix, I had to vote Micromod. All lovely piles though, you can't really make a wrong choice.
