It's Fabric Giveaway Friday!
My sponsor the Fat Quarter Shop was founded in 2003 by Kimberly Jolly. An avid quilter, Kimberly began her shop as a side business while still working a corporate position, cutting, packing and shipping right out of her house during evenings and weekends. From the very beginning, she was committed to delivering top-notch service for every single order and customer. As the Fat Quarter Shop's reputation grew, Kimberly decided to make it a full-time operation. Her husband Kevin joined her not long after, and with his help, lots of hard work, and a tireless commitment, the store began to grow. Over the past few years a few more people have joined the staff!
As a team, they continue to branch out with the best fabrics, exclusive kits, quilt clubs, BOMs, and more. And they will always be driven by the passion that Kimberly founded the store upon,
which is always giving you the best products and service!

I plan to use a jelly roll to make a Chinese Coins quilt -- I'll call mine Danish Kroner. The fabrics are beautiful shades of light aqua, green, white and yellow. A someday project. My Canadian friend, Kathy, would say it is one of my PIGS (projects in grocery sacks). Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI haven't ever used a jelly roll but my daughter just made the cutest quilt with one! I'm sold now!! I would love, love to win that!!

ReplyDeleteI used a jelly roll when I first started quilting for a strip quilt, but haven't since. I usually purchase fabric not knowing what I'm going to do with it, so fat quarters or half yards are my first picks.

I've never purchased or used a jelly roll...I always want leftover scraps too much not to just cut my own strips.
ReplyDeleteI love jelly rolls - my first project with them was a postage stamp quilt!
ReplyDeletei follow you!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a follower already!
ReplyDeleteI used two jelly rolls to make the same pattern (from the jelly roll quilts book) two Christmases ago. It's amazing what a difference the fabric makes. One quilt turned out very traditional, and one fairly modern.
ReplyDeleteI made a quilt for my friend's grandaughter using tonga batik strips - that is the closest to a jelly roll that I have used - I own several and think they would be fun to use as sashing. I have also thought about a jelly-roll race quilt. My concern is the accuracy of the cutting - does it differ with mfgs?

ReplyDeleteI haven't made anything with a jelly roll, yet, but I sure would love to try to come up with something!

ReplyDeleteI've used jellyrolls mainly for quilts and I love working with them. Nevertheless there are collections I would not consider buying as a jellyroll, because cutting up to a jellyroll size does not do justice to the design.
ReplyDeleteQuilt Blocks however is appropriate for jellyroll dimensions and I would love to have a roll from this collection!
I have never used a jelly roll! I have used fat quarters and fat eighths and charm packs, but never jelly rolls. There have been many times I wished for one, though - usually while cutting 2.5" strips for sashing!
