I've mentioned, just a few times these last few weeks, that for my next Design Team project I will be using Riley Blake's new Chevrons! I finished up my project and even though I have a million other things to do, I just couldn't help working with them just a little bit longer!

Did you see Rita of Red Pepper Quilts post The Humble Chevron Print? She shares how "With careful fussy cutting and fabric placement it doesn't get any easier than this for a quick but impressive quilt block that changes it's appearance with each variation in fabric placement." I was mesmerized by what Rita created! Seriously, go have a quick look and see. Rita's smart designs pull you in like you're looking at an optical illusion or trying to figure out a brain teaser. They're pure genius! Obviously, I was inspired to try!

And of course, I had to see how pretty this finished block looked in the window light!

My fussy cutting is far from precise compared to Rita's, I know! It would have been really cool if I would have matched up all of those chevron stripes just perfectly, but cutting straight and putting that much thought into a quilt block at that moment was impossible!
Give a goofy 9 (and a half) year old a clipped corner that just so happens to look like a tiny hat and he'll put on quite a show. It was hilarious!

He actually has the greatest smile -- when you can get him to show it!
You can find these Riley Blake Chevrons in the shops of my sponsors Pink Castle Fabrics, Fat Quarter Shop, Skye Reve Fabrics, JAQS Fabrics, and Fresh Squeezed Fabrics.
I wish you all a beautiful day! I think it's going to be a good one!!

Don't you just love the creativity and imagination of children! What a joy! I am about to start working on a chevron project and I love the idea of fussy cutting them. Very nice.
Nice chevron and amazing face!
Loving those chevron prints, I really must pick some up! As for the wearer of the world's tiniest hat, totally cracked me up!
Rita AND you! Two sites with amazing eye candy. Your blogs are always enjoyed.... and I cant wait for your giveaway tomorrow!
My son was the same! Gorgeous smiles when he was little then he stopped smiling for photos for years. Now he's 19 and I can get a smile for a photo again. Clearly it wasn't cool to smile for a while! Glad to have it back though!
What a fun block!
I bet there is a lot of laughter in your house! :)
Oh, I love the chevie block, and I really love your window pics of the new stuff. Such a nice way to show it off, give a restful perspective on it, and hey, your seams look great!
Beautiful fabric! I would save this for when my granddaughter comes out this summer and see what we could come up with. Thanks for the give away.

Love the photos of your son. He does have a great smile and it looks like he has a great personality as well.
Its always fun to be young. I just memorize my school days when we were making such fun. Now I am busy in searching for Nike Promo Code for my shopping.
