I created a tutorial for a kite themed nursery floor pillow using Riley Blake's new Fly A Kite collection by October Afternoon. You'll find the step by step tutorial for making this large floor pillow, and even steps for making a smaller version, on the RBD blog today (tutorial to be posted at 9am MST right here). This project turned out to be my favorite pillow yet -- I really hope you like it!

ReplyDeleteI have been an avid embroiderer for over 40 years I have always left the sewing to my mother thinking that I wasn't as good as she was and that I should just stick to embroidering. This year I decided that I was going to overcome that complex and I bought myself an embroidery sewing machine and I am going to combine my embroidery with sewing quilts and other things.I enjoy your blog and your tutorials greatly. litlone@cox.net

ReplyDeleteOoh, great fabric! I love the pillows, but I have to admit that one of my biggest pet peeves is pillows and blankets on the floor. The good part of your project is that the pillow BELONGS on the floor (so nice when you're laying down so you can be "mommy mountain"). The bad part is when the child grows into a toddler and puts all of the REST of the pillows in the house on the floor (ha)! Anyone else out there have that problem? (And now I have TWO toddlers, so the floor is crazy cluttered all the time!!!)
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is soooo cute. My immediate sewing goal is to make a crib skirt for my son's crib.
ReplyDeleteThis collection is on my must buy list! One of my sewing goals this year is to make a handmade gift for each member of my family for Christmas. Wish me luck!
