ReplyDeleteLovely fabric! I would love to use this on small quit projects or on handmade cards. One of my favorite scriptures is: I pray for them:I pray not for the world, but for them which Thou hast given Me;for they are Thine. And all Mine are Thine, and Thine are Mine; And I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world but these are in the world and I come to Thee. Holy father, keep through Thine own name those whom Thou hast given Me, that they may be one as We are. John 17:9-11
ReplyDeleteThe verses speak to my heart of how much The Lord Jesus and The Father love us. If you are feeling down knowing that you are so loved always lifts the spirit! Thanks and have a great day!
I love sewing. My daughter never was really interested in sewing. Now she has a little girl that I am going to teach to sew. I bought her a sewing machine for Christmas and when I get home from being a snowbird we are going to start sewing. Hopefully she will have her grandma passion for sewing. My sisters daughters are the same way
ReplyDelete"When I fall on the ground with my face to the rising sun, Oh Lord have mercy on me"! The song "My Anchor Holds", the vocal group "Selah" , His Word, and not only the proof, but the knowing that He will always take care of me. I feel as if I am in the presence of God's gifts this morning as I read the comments from your followers. ReplyDeleteMy favorite words of encouragement come from Psalm 27. In one translation is says "do not be afraid". A devotion I read said this is a command not a suggestion. We are to remain calm and brave and remember God is on our side in all situations.
ReplyDeleteLately, an embroidery piece that I can pick up and work on whenever has helped me.
ReplyDeleteI just lost my best friend and companion - my Golden Retriever named Annie on New Year's Eve. So I found this poem:
ReplyDeleteJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Nothing will bring back the hour, of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower.... grieve not but rather find strength in what remains behind...

Playing with children, petting my dog (or anyone elses'), keeping busy in th community, talking to my 92 year old dad!
ReplyDeleteLately, I've been focusing on the word "endure" to keep me going. I try to remember that if I just hang on and don't let go, I'll make it through.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a difficult question. I struggle with staying positive as I have a bit of a "condition". I try to look ahead only as far as the evening and think about sewing or crocheting and that gets me through
ReplyDeleteLove the color combination! Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite scripture is James 1:17- "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
Funny...I have a tattered old Archie comics story about Mr. Weatherbee going on a diet that ALWAYS makes me laugh out loud! It's a silly thing, but if I'm feeling sad or down in the dumps, I can always pull it out and it cheers me up :)
ReplyDeleteI love these fabrics!!! This gets me through -->
ReplyDelete...Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite quotes is:
"Having chosen our course, without guile and with pure purpose, let us renew our trust in God, and go forward without fear and with manly hearts." Abraham Lincoln
Oh I just LOVE these fabrics. My mind has already started sewing for my daughter with them. I've been struggling with my health this last month after having been very healthy for forever and my spirits are down. I haven't been able to sew, which is my release and therapy. Prayer is always my first means of slaying the blues. Listening to praise music and reading His promises to me are the things that get me through!

ReplyDeleteLove this color combo and know just what I would do with it. As some of you know I just lost my sister to breast cancer and it was a terrible time for me. I had just celebrated being cancer free for 10 years and it devistated me when I found out her cancer had spread throughout her body. After weeks of mourning, I knew I had to do something or I was going to sink into a despondency that I wouldn't be able to pull out of easily. I was looking through my bookcase for something to read when I spotted a book a dear friend gave me when I found out I had to go through chemo yet again Max Lucado's book "Grace For The Moment" . It helped me then and I thought it might help me through my sis's death. OMG and I mean what I said "Oh My God" I prayed, please help me to understand, to accept her death and learn to live in a positive way by helping others. OMGod please lead me off the path of depression and sadness into a place of sunshine and happiness, wrap me in your loving arms and show me what to do to help myself and others. After prayer, I opened the book randomly and this was the verse I read: "Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you shall find. Knock, and the door will open for you." Matthew 7:7 I began to live again that day with peace in my heart knowing my sister was with our loving God, all by simply asking, searching and knocking on His door. Thanks for letting me share Maureen.
ReplyDeleteNice giveaway~ Happy 2012.
ReplyDeleteI read Isaiah 41:10 everday..so uplifting! For my Texas friends (or those in the country)a fun quote is => Feeling Down, Saddle Up! lol

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful...my husband thinks I am the only person in the world whose favorite color is orange.
ReplyDeleteUplifting? Hmmm...this last year has been a difficult one with my health...so I have tried not have too many pity parties by remembering that there is always someone who has it worse off than I do. For this, I am truly blessed.

Thank you for the giveaway. I think I came across this on stumbles and stitches and thought it would be wonderful motivation for the next year. It is simple and just one word. "GROW" Anything is possible. And it is something my children are doing everyday.

ReplyDeleteWhat keeps me moving is Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you, you only need to be still."
ReplyDeleteAlways gets me through.
I love listening to podcasts and audiobooks to get me through the not so enjoyable tasks. I love feeling like I'm getting a great education or "reading" a great book even while mopping the floor. So whoever says that stay-at-home-moms trade their brains for a mop couldn't be more wrong. But, honestly, I even love listening to these things when I'm doing things I do enjoy like sewing!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric...and beautiful encouragement from everyone!
ReplyDeleteDear Prudence - The Beatles. Anytime I start something difficult, go through trials, when I stare depression in the eye, just hearing that song brings me around. When I was very young and experiencing what I thought at the time would be the hardest heartbreak of my life, my best friends came over to check on me, and when they're coaxing and joking couldn't snap me out of my self pitty, Dear Prudence began to play on the radio. They started to sing along, and soon I couldn't resist joining in. We ended up singing into hairbrushes and remotes standing on the bed laughing together. The song brings back that memory and I am reminded nothing is too hard to bear, only too hard to bear alone.
ReplyDeletewonderful site, I have shared and would love to make some amazing art pieces with this bundle of tangerine joy. Thank you
